LOL. Do you even know how hypocritical you sound? You are now saying they do anything for money except for the things fans used to pay for but are now free. That is just too funny.

They know all to well that the blind, bathwater drinking fans will line up in droves to think that they are getting something special.

Monker wrote:So, you are ignorant too. In droves? This just isn't happening.

I see I'm ignorant because I don't believe in paying an artist money to be part of their "special club".

No. You are ignorant because you believe obsessed fans line up in droves to join the club. That is just not true.

Perhaps you are responding this way because you do?

Nope...I have never joined any type of Styx fan club. But, I but I believe other people can join if they want to.

In the case of the "Stynx Lounge" I have seen where some of these loyal fans even complained about paying for their membership and basically got nothing for it. The sad fact is that those sane fans still cheer the band on or try to spin it that the band members knew nothing about it. If they actually didn't, they should have or at least their management should have. After all, what is the site representing?

Monker wrote:So what. I would like to know the number who are currently paying the $30...cuz I bet it's a lot less then you seem to think. If people don't look into what they are paying for, it's their fault, not Styx'. And, what do you care if one of these 'most loyal fans' pays for this? is there something they are getting that you are jealous about?

So you are saying it is OK for someone to rip someone off and suffer no penalty for it?

Nobody is getting 'ripped off'. That is just ridiculous.

It's all the responsibility of the victim.

First of all, there is no 'victim'. Second, yes, if you are going to buy something it is your responsibility to read the damn website to know what you are getting.

Tell that to the people who's lively hood has been affected by the current economic climate brought on by the banking\investment institutions and the US Government. I care when it seems that someone is ripping someone off. Since some "members" of the "Stynx Lounge" seemed to feel they were taken, I just commented about it. It's not like I am a crusade about it.

They can feel that way all they want, but they weren't "ripped off". And, the 'current economic climate' blah, blah, blah has nothing to do with the Styx fan club.

The only reason they are giving those things away for free now is because the fans complained about the membership. If nobody said anything then they would still charge for it.

Let me clarify. I meant as whole, not just Styx but the other artists that do the same thing.

Perhaps you are responding this way because you do?

I did not make the claim, it was persons that joined the "Stynx Lounge" that felt they were not getting what they paid for. They were questioning what they were paying for since things that were either part of the membership or promised to be part of the membership were not being offered. Seems like a ripoff to me.

In all seriousness I am NOT against anyone trying to make an extra buck, BUT.................................. a friend of mine went to a recent Styx concert and he stated that while T shirts are high at $35.00 to charge $ 50.00 for up dog is a TOTAL crime.

Who on earth would even consider charging $50.00 for up dog?????

Styx and their management team ought to be ashamed!!!!!!!!!!
