Yes that was when he came aboard, but his career didn't hit the wall in Canada. He still does big business up there apparently.
Really show us the numbers lets see just how big he is.He came aboard for Styx because they asked him.
And he should have said no . Bad career move.
The guy actually plays circles around DeYoung
No he runs around in circles imitating DeYoungthough is not the vocalist that DeYoung is.
he not the vocalist of anyone, Even you sing better than that goof. He's also not the writer Dennis was, but neither is Dennis. Gowan's a decent writer though.
Dennis's last cd was well liked by everyone except a handful. Gowan in his dreams could not come close to a cd like 100 years.
In that case dennis is the better man,
Had Dennis not steered the band into projects like Kilroy Was Here (you know Don, that album that you didn't buy?
You mean the album with
Double Life
Haven't We Been Here Before
Just Get Through This Night
High Time and Don't Let It End
Looks like a great cd to me. Look past the Kilroy thing the music is good.Gee, wonder why that was?) then we wouldn't be having this conversation and you would only get to see Styx live once every five years and they would be playing slow songs with the word Paradise in them all night long.
Much better than seeing them 9 times a year for 11 years in a row playing the song with the word Oh Momma over and over again.
Now, you can pretty much see them every week somewhere and while the DeYoung songs are passable,
Yea you pass gas when you hear em sung by Gowan and you say I pass Gowan stinks so does the gas.
no, they do not sound like Dennis.
Rather they sound like someone who is singing with hemorrhoids.
However, there's enough of it there to satisfy most concert goers as their tours have proven.
Proven Smoven take away all the triple bills and there is no proof and no fansI would encourage you to check out Cyclorama. It's a brilliant record and Gowan is featured on some tracks.
It also had Glen is the writing seat and he is gone so don't even bother.I also encourage you to check out Dennis' 100 Years From Now. Decent record with mostly brilliant tunes and also some great cruise ship songs.
Time for a Cruise
