No announcement, but it will be happening from the end of this month until the end of Jan 2013. Look for Glen in a few of the Jan shows.

Hockey on the river Styx anyone???

Sure wish some of these shows were close to me.

Logically - just doesn't work

Here are the Dec - Jan dates. Very run of the mill typical locations for Styx since 1997. Why wouldn't they market the heck out of it to try and draw up bigger crowds and excitement?

Here are the locations

Dec 28 : Prior Lake, MN
Mystic Lake Casino Hotel in Prior Lake, MN.

Dec 29 : Waukegan, IL
Genesee Theatre in Waukegan, IL

Dec 30 : Merrillville, IN
Star Plaza Theatre in Merrillville, IN

Jan 18 : Cherokee, NC
Harrah's Cherokee Resort Event Center

Jan 19 : Fayetteville, NC
Crown Center at Cumberland County Auditorium, Fayetteville, NC

Jan 30 : Denver, CO
Paramount Theatre in Denver, CO

None of these feel any different.

Ya they are just a tad bigger than DDY's & Tommy's Borders shows.

My personal guess is that they may try to see if this will somehow fit for the future(personalities, fan intrest, jewelry, coffee,$$$$ etc...)

Dennis also has a band and management team to think of. They have made many commitments. These must be honored. Then if this somehow could work they will have to figure out how to mesh two teams.

No NHL but they may be playing hockey on the river Styx soon!

What??

Dennis wanted someone to play keyboards on the song he sang lead vocals. But Tommy convince them and him that he should play his own keys for the tour.

Dennis, Glen, Larry, Tommy, JY, Chuck, Sucherman, Ricky - sure would be a lot of people sharing the same stage. Which brings you to the next consideration $$$$$$. You get the same 2000 people and now have 4 salaries plus 4 partners (the original 4). Not much $$$$$ to be made. Would think that DDY, JY, and TS all take a pay cut in this scenario.

I believe it was Tommy's borders show. DDY showed up at the one that was a 30 minute ride from his house. I was there. DDY was standing in the store almost next to me and tommy called him up to sing a few songs. I don't think DDY was at any of the other shows.

Heard that Dennis talked a little bit about this this am on the Merv Griffin show.

I hoped that my wife taped it for me. She saw the interview and she said that a huge sticking point has been the money that they receive on merchandise such as their jewelry and coffee products.

I heard that Merv grilled Dennis about his contributions on the Brave New World album.

He also asked Dennis if he would attempt to play Gowan's spinning keyboards, and wondered what Dennis tought of Styx's coffee blend and jewelry line.

My wife is not a huge DDY fan but she said he handled every question with TOTAL class.

After the DDY interview Merv interviewed the guy who was the chimney sweeper for the Village People.

But given JY's attitude and what he's said in the past, I'll quote him, "When they're playing hockey on the river Styx." Besides, if I am DDY, after what those guys have done, if they come calling I'd tell them to stick it where the sun don't shine.

Ah yes, poor little Dennis. It almost brought a tear to my eye, with all the stuff he had to endure.
Now ,wait a minute.I almost forgot.Let's read page 294 of 'The Grand Delusion',and I feel much better already.

You mention page 294 of TGD so much that I had to re read it to find out what was so awful. Basically it discusses Dennis and Tonmy having an argument about BNW. Essentially Dennis is hot becAuse he doesn't want to release an album that wasn't finished. And given the piece of crap that BNW was, I'd say he was right. The horror!

I wonder what he would have added or done different.?
I quite like BNW.One of the few Styx albums I listen to these days.

...and yes I bring page 294 up any chance I get.It really was an argument where Dennis wanted to be right.

I think it's more about the limited edition Mr. Roboto bobble heads that Dennis was insisting be sold at the merch. tables.

Didn't Dennis say that he couldn't do this because he has vertigo in addition to the light sensitivity from his illness from '99 and doing so would make him collapse on stage and make him see stars?

Something tells me the decision to give Dennis the boot was in place way before this encounter. I think that TS has a hard time dealing with confrontation of any kind. After Dennis announced that he could not commit to the tour planned for BNW and wanted to delay it, Tommy couldn't talk to Dennis directly to tell him that if the tour was not going on as planned then finishing BNW was not in his best interest. He told JY to tell Dennis that. TS seems to be a baby when it comes to this type of stuff.

So are you saying Dennis' contributions to that album were pieces of shit? I think that is too harsh of a statement about that album. It's just that you can tell that it wasn't done as a collective and that it did not have that familiar Styx vibe that the other albums had. In a sense a let down based on what fans thought they were likely to get.

Ah yes, poor little Dennis. It almost brought a tear to my eye, with all the stuff he had to endure.
Now ,wait a minute.I almost forgot.Let's read page 294 of 'The Grand Delusion',and I feel much better already.
Besides,if I am Tommy ,JY and Chuck, after all Dennis has done,if he comes calling I'd tell him to stick it where the sun don't shine.

Cutting off, shutting down Tommy constantly, until he just stood there.
Dennis won the battle but lost the war.

He could have done a lot - BNW was a piece of shit and should never have been released.

So are you saying that Dennis' contributions were not shit, but the others were?

But given JY's attitude and what he's said in the past, I'll quote him, "When they're playing hockey on the river Styx." Besides, if I am DDY, after what those guys have done, if they come calling I'd tell them to stick it where the sun don't shine.

Brave New World (reprise) is the worst vocal recording of any musical act in the history of recorded music. Just Fell In sucks too.

High Crimes, Great Expectations, Just Feel In and Best New Face are some of the worst recordings in the anals of Styx and Rock & Roll History.

JY had the best songs on the album sans Roseland & Everything Is Cool. That speaks volumes. Rumor has it JY may add the above 4 to his 'Out On A Day Pass Part 2'. Release date Feb 2014.

Hey the boards rockin again!!! I am patting myself on the back as I type

I like Best New Face, but the rest of those, yeah, pretty ungood.
Dennis songs were so unStyxish on it. Too bad that some of those that made it to 100 Years weren't on it.
"Just Fell In" was supposed to be a joke and it shoulda been one of those hidden tracks at the end of the album.
