I find that a little hard to swallow! :?

If your sick and exhusted like Dennis was and his father just passed away maybe there's not much he could do.

Well, not much except hand JY a lawsuit on the day of his brother's death, anyway. ;-)

Please, people. This is so petty. None of you were there. None of you knows what *really* goes on behind closed doors. You think because you watch Behind the Music and read message boards that you have it figured out? Anyone who's been in a band for any length of time knows there are thousands of variables and nuances and problems that arise. Some can be worked out, some can't. Some people are glory hogs, some are dishonest, some are thiefs with superiority complexes, some just want to get out there and kick ass. Do I care if my heroes are miserable? I don''t know, maybe. Do I make ROCKSTARS my heroes? That would make me a bit silly, as rockstars are the epitome of dysfunctionality. hey, whatever floats your boat.

Leesa, I admire your diplomacy. If only our heroes could do as well.

Well I agree this has been hashed to death, but I need to clarify something. Lawsuits aren't filed on a dime, now does one have any control over when one is served with the suit. It is an extremely unfortunate circumstance that JY's brother died on that day. How would Dennis, or anyone else for that matter have foreseen that occuring. Everyone of us has had some sort of moment that cannot be altered, no matter how hardwe try. This would be one of those moments.

Peace,

A lot of things can be helped, and a lot of things can't. That's the point of this whole "debate." Being angry about DDY's lawyer giving JY the lawsuit when he did is no different than being angry with the rest of the band for "abandoning" Dennis is in his time of "need." We're talking about years and years of rocky relationships, failed business ventures, loss of control, power, MONEY and a lot of other BS no one can even begin to imagine. People come on a message board with a handful of "facts" and think they've got it all figured out, and the answer is "X." I just think it's all very incredible.

I think the majority of those on this board have long since made peace with the split, and are no longer angry, as they are resigned to it. The person who started this thread is new to the band. Whenver that kind of question comes up, it brings it all to the forefront. That's all this was/is. I don't claim to know all the facts, nor does anyone here. Yep, a ton of speculation.

What I find pathetic is that it's pushing 6 years, and it's still being discussed.

Zan is extremely spot on.

Sadie's right, most of us know what's up and "get it". However, I must admit I feel the urge to explode whenever some adamant zealot from one came signs on with yet another self-righteous "know it all" post that firmly places their hero as the sole soul of Styx who has been victimized by the other team.

So, I suppose I must plead occaisional pathetic behavior. I challenge others to make such admissions.

Hmmm..."Zan is extremely spot on"...can I use that for a sig quote? I hear it so infrequently. OK, never. LOL ;-)

I'm right there with ya, Adam. I have become a lot more numb to the drama (5 + years of arguing this crap will do that to ya), but every now and then, I just wanna scream "Are you STILL at it??? Good God, STHU already!" Glen once (or a hundred times, who can remember?) said, "History is lies agreed upon." If enough people SAY it happened this way, that is the way it will be written in history forever. I guess that's why every now and again I still jump into the fray and give the cyber b*tch-slap to the select few who are still convinced that the earth is flat.

They say the ones with their minds closed the tightest have their mouths open the widest.

On that note, I'll STHU, myself. :-D

Oh heavens yes. Adam! I plead guilty too! I am trying to get better though!

I like the line from the Bob Dylan song "You're right from your side. And I'm right from mine. We're both just one too many mornings and a thousand miles behind." Cryptic Dylan to be sure, but I feel that people argue from where they stand and hope something might get through to the other side through the shouting.

And sometimes we all find common ground here and really enjoy the discussion.

5+ years since the "divorce" and the old arguments still pop up. If nothing else, this band Styx certainly engendered passion in a lot of folks! I am one of them.

I think it's a pretty safe bet we've all shot our mouths off from time to time. Music evokes emotions. People assume the music they like from any artist is a reflection of who that artist is. Sometimes it is. Sometimes it's not.

I can accept that there will always be areas where we disagree. And I think it's healthy. It would be a miracle if everyone just accepted things for what they. Plain and simple.
