Too funny.

That is all you republicans have left.

Enjoy the minority role for the next decade...you earned it.

not all I have left, I got tons more.

But I get bored with the politics befuddlement after about 10 minutes. There is little I can do to change your mind and there is little you can do to change mine.

We both agree on that. That's a given.

Oh yeah?

In ten seconds or less, tell me Hillary's stance on the Iraq war?
You wouldn't be able to neatly tell me, because she herself has yet to articulate it.
When it comes to the war, she is about as opaque as Kerry was.

Rockn'deano wrote:She will have a shitty economy to run on, an embarrassing war to run on, a terrible American reputation to run on.

Funny.
All of these things were in effect in '04, and none of them saved Kerry.

It's one thing to vote for the war, but voting for the war, doesn't mean condoning a buffoon attempt at managing the war. how the Hell was she to know, that W would fuck it up so bad?

Oh, gee, I don't know...

Maybe because W. is an idiot.

Anybody with a brain the size of froy's would know Iraq was going to be screwed up from the beginning. All the patriotic, political, BS that was being thrown about at that time was ridiculous. Anybody against taking out Sadam was a traitor. He was supposed to be some kinda modern day Hitler with a 'nucular' bomb...not some bum in a spider hole who couldn't hold an army together for five minutes.

She only voted for attacking Iraq because, at the time, it was the PC thing to do...EVERYBODY, Republican and Democrat, did the same. Hardly ANYBODY had the balls to stand up and say it was the wrong thing to do.

That should tell you how fucked up government is - The most powerful nation in the world can't tell the difference between a peon and a Hitler. Give me a break.

The sad thing is, if democrats had voted against the war, the GOP would have 98% of the Congress. They had to go with the president.

Make no mistake, this election is judgement on this administration, the GOP Congress, and corruption.

Rove
Cheney

Yet amazingly, only a few posts up, you strongly casted your support behind a '08 candidate who has yet to be damning of this war in the slightest.
Who's the peon again?

I wonder if he will give the richest 1% another tax break this year as they must be really struggling to pay these gas prices......... maybe he will cut the veteran's pay to pay for it again ?

Darren,

Did you vote when you were in the UK?

And I voted for him twice. I don't have any doubt that I made the right choice when it comes to the International Issues we face today.

Do you really think if Gore was elected in 2000 that he would have put any money into the Defense of this country or do you think he would have said to Bin Laden not to do it again.

I'll give you that I am not thrilled about his handling of the domestic agenda right now.

But simply put, his opponents still can't get their act together. Tell me 3 policies that they have believed in for more than 6 months and what they stand for. If they can get a clear message, they will win. If not they will loose again. "Not what they believe in" is not a policy!!!

You can call our President all the names you want, but it is all of our best interests that he is successfull.

Why are all the troops in Iraq while the man behind 9/11 is sat in a cave laughing at everyone......Bin Laden the forgotton man .....

I did vote in the UK i voted for the party that would say no when George came knocking to ask if we could sacrifice a few British soldiers so he can make more money from oil and giving contracts to his pals to equip and rebuild Iraq (HALIBURTON). I bet you any money that he is going to make millions from awarding contracts......he will be on the take from these companies as he is CORRUPT and how the Buffon has not been Impeached is beyond a joke......maybe the oil companies who he gives tax breaks to are already ploughing in $$$$$$$$$$ to his offshore account somewhere.....actually there is no maybe's about it. Maybe the 1% of the countries biggest earners are donating to the Dubya fund too....thanking him for the tax breaks given to them....I bet he cant rely on getting anything from those earning less than $20,000 a year as its those people he has screwed along with the vets to pay for his policies of making the rich even richer. I just wish that Chaney would be allowed to go hunting in the oval office and do us all a favor.

This is the most idiotic debate I've ever seen. It's like comparing a stomach virus to a migraine and justifying why each one is better to have.

Thank you for illustrating my point (altho, you forget that chronic migraines can be debilitating for LIFE, as opposed to being unconvenienced for a couple of days). Oddly enough, this thread has given me symptoms of both, but by all means, continue with this fascinating discussion! It's so interesting and mind-boggingly accurate too.

I am surprised at this comment. I always thought highly of your posts Zan, and to me, what can possibly be wrong with a debate?

Oh, and if it's so inaccurate, why don't you jump in and tell us all what is right. Nothing like a person criticizing the trying members, yet won't add to the discussion.

Here's why:

1. I have spent years on other boards discussing this very thing. Much like the Dennis/Styx debiacle, I've seen, heard, and contributed to everything you all are saying hundreds of times over - it never changes, it never gets anywhere but making everyone resentful (hey, free country, your right, but it's still POINTLESS to do so). I have seen enough to know that NEITHER side of this debate is right or wrong. Everyone makes good points, but NEITHER side is willing to admit it. Everyone's too busy doing the tit-for-tat and trying to belittle the guy who questioned their position before them. It's a waste of time and energy.

and here's what:

2. This is a STYX board. It was never meant to BE a political debate board. There is nothing wrong with a debate if it's welcome in the forum in which it starts. This is not the case here, and several here have already asked that it be taken elsewhere, but no one's willing to respect those wishes.

Ah. I was waiting for this one to come out.

I was afraid at first to respond to this at first, however, a REGULAR STYX POSTER started it, and what's the difference if there is 1 reply, or 382? A thread is a thread is a thread.

For the record Zan, I think you might be one of the few people on here who I would never flame...and also, I am very passionate in arguing, however, I always learn something from the other side in the heat of battle....so debate is healthy in my humble opinion.

Notice I didn't jump in until I saw it going nowhere...lol

(and it is going nowhere)

But if you'll also notice, a regular STYX poster, who is notorious for talking babble posted it - and if you'll also notice, we are not discussing the question he posed. It's become an "us vs. them" debate that inevitable happens every time anyone mentions politics. For example, how did Hillary get involved in this? I don't believe Froy mentioned her at all in his post.

I know you're not. I think I'd KNOW if you were, Deano. lol...

This board has managed to stay politics-free for a long time, and some of us want it to stay that way. I don't think that's too much to ask. I also don't think it's too much to ask that those who want to discuss them take it to an appropriate forum. It shouldn't our job to avoid threads that don't belong here in the first place.

I totally agree.

Politics rarely make it in the all goes Journey board.

However, Froy started this, and he is your boy, you know.

Seeing that Andrew didn't want to move it, why not add to it?

I agree it should be moved.

Okay, this is just getting cuter and really funny !!!! You and Froy have a LOT in common, which is really funny. You both were banned from "your" own boards. I'll leave it at that since there is WAY too much to add on here of the things you two wonderful guys (LOL) have in common - LOL
