I would be happy if we heard that DDY, Tommy and esp Chuck at least talked to one another. I dont care if they did a full tour. I would flip if DDY re recored a song on Vol 2 that featured Chucks bass and Tommys voice. Or even a tour like Foreigner did with past members at certain dates.
Also, how was Tommy that broke after the huge success of Damn Yankees that he needed Styx to tour again in 97?
Hmm.. Although DY was successful, (Debut Going 2x platinum and gold respectively) they were pretty much done by late 93'. Nobody other then them knows just how much they actually made after the tours, etc.
Who knows, it could be quite possible that those that are managing him and their accountants could be taking liberties with his cash. Shrug.
He also did "buy" back his share of Styx - who knows how much that was worth.
Now to take it back to Dennis being in Styx one more time - I agree with Yogi, would love to see one more tour "Styx - Featuring Dennis Deyoung" but with Gowan (still doing background vocals and keys (like how Dennis has a 2nd keyboardist in his band) will it happen? doubtful.
Now if Chuck decides he wants to be seen on Stage with Dennis, that's really 100% up to him as co founding surviving member and wouldn't need "permission" from TS or JY. I believe Chuck was named in the lawsuit against Styx, and as well for most of the late 80s and 90s was shut out of all revenue Styx was making unless they were on the road - another thing that Dennis did to "give more to the song writers". But I'm sure that's been discussed in Chuck's book and the Styx biography. Chuck may have given his permission for his picture to be used in the video, but that doesn't mean he wants to be in the same room or the same stage with him. Has anyone actually seen any public statement from him in regards to this?
I guess we'll just have to wait and see and be thankful that everyone is still putting out music - because sooner rather than later sadly they won't be.
