Who on earth names their daughter August???

P.S. Did you know that Anna Nichole Smith's second husband was Dr. Joel Rexic??

P.S.S. Her fourth husband was Timmothy Robic

Just some facts you learn from watching A&E

I can't help but chuckle a bit. For a while some have said "Dennis needs to rock it up! Enough with Classical intros and Broadway"... so he does it and now you hear "OMG Where is the acapella?!!?!?!"

Funny.

Yeah... I'm sure he can't handle the vocals anymore. Just like he couldn't play keys anymore so that is why he added another keyboardist.

He must be listening to what the die-hard fans want to hear - LOL 8)

I think Dennis is the type of person that likes to shake things up at times, obviously.

He has done done a rock symphony show, an acoustic show and a band show. In addition, his broadway work, his solo rock music, Lost Treasures show so now let's focus on the "Greatest Hits" show. PERFECT for a general audience this time around.

At the end of the day, it's about asses in seats. Plain and simple.

It makes sense to have a keyboardist with Dennis since in his band, he needs to be a 100% frontman (well, most of the time now with the TS songs back in the rock show). It's not like in Styx where there were essentially 3 frontmen and DDY could stay rooted a lot of the show.

It'll be interesting to see it in a few weeks. Like Suite, I think I've seen pretty much every incarnation of DDY's live act going back to the Rye Playland show. It's going to be weird seeing TS songs at a DDY show.

Although I for one DO NOT bemoan the loss of SMTW. I always disliked the a capella version. I say sayonara!

Had I known he was going to shake it up, I would have contacted Tim and put my hat in the ring for bass player ;)

That is why I say put SMTW back to its original version - it was actually on the charts LONGER than any other Styx single...ever. It is a classic and has a lot of meaning to a lot of people, so I don't understand how you can't leave it on there. Babe is there for goodness sake as it DLIE. SMTW is a bigger hit than DLIE.

Love At First Sight would be a great addition - not sure why that one has been buried as well....it went to #25 Top 100 and #13 AC - great song. Did they even play it on the EOTC tour?

And we've been through this on both sides.

The length of the show is determined by the promoter.

The band could want to do 3 hours, but if the promoter will only pay for 90 minutes, that is what they play for...

I'm having a fakkin laugh.
Read over the few new topics here and just posting in this one.
FROY you old wiener, you are hysterical.
Dennis got 2 new members or whatever and is adding 2 Tommy songs and you think he's is gonna take over the world.
(and therefore Styx will be done)
How naive can you be.
Nobody beyond the 30 or so people on here gives a shit.
And if Dennis now becomes more popular, then it would be thanx to Tommy's tunes.
Thanx for the laughs.
Jesus loves you ,but everybody else thinks you're a knob.

I think more people (general public) going to concerts would recognize "Fooling Yourself" compared to "Girls with Guns"

ALL the stations here are playing Girls With Guns all the time!! In fact, they also play the SHIT out of "What If", "Ocean", "Free To Love You", and "Bad Times". Outside of those monster hits, occasionally you will hear "Come In And Explain" (though I think that one was mainly a "rock track"). We have a deep-cuts program that just loves "Little Girl World" and "The Outsider".

I once called to request Desert Moon and they didn't know what it was. They had no CLUE who Dennis Deyoung was! I had to explain that he played keyboards for a band Tommy Shaw fronted called Styx before Tommy embarked on his iconic solo career.

That's funny, we have an R&B station in the Columbus area that plays the shit out of "High Crimes & Misdemeanors". I didn't think that was even a single..

94.5 in our area plays "Desert Moon" and "Call Me" once in a while. 97.3 The Brew here does play "Girls with Guns", I hear it in the morning.

On the radio station 96.5 they played "Captain America" during the 100 Years of Harley. Styx played at one of the stages. Also on 96.5 they play a lot of Styx "deep cuts", I think it was last weekend I heard "Mademoiselle" on that station.

Styx is played quite often on 5 of the radio stations here and their formats. When Styx started out they played in Milwaukee quite often. They were a "featured" band at a club called Teddy's, now called Shank Hall. When any member comes to town they're usually on the radio for an interview.

You are lucky, Suite; hre in Columbus, we pretty much just get the basics. "Come Sail Away", "Renegade", "Babe", and "Fooling Yourself". I have heard other greatest hits over the years, but these four are definitely the most played.
