This was an interesting review. I felt a strong sense of paradise lost with this recording. A longing for the way things used to be that will never be again.

It truly has some great moments on it. One of JY's two very best songs --Half Penny, Two Penny; DDY's powerful piece of songwriting "Lonely People."

Many people look back on "The Best of Times" with great fondness. Much moreso than with "Babe." I think it struck more of a chord in the listener.

This album definitely deserved its number one ranking and stands as a testament to great songwriting and singing.

Powerful stuff that makes you think on this recording.

Wow.... Holy Crap. That guy really makes some good points. I'd never thought of Paradise Theatre being an "Angry" album... but I can definitely see where that comes into play. I agree, Dennis had some of his best lyrical moments - although I think "Nothing Ever Goes As Planned" is likely one of his best songs from a lyrical perspective. Most people associate anger with musical style. God knows I listen to a lot of angry music (slipknot, devildriver, killswitch engage, marilyn manson, and the list goes on), but I had never considered why I'd recently been drawn to listening to Paradise Theatre in the iPod over the last few weeks.

Very interesting indeed.
