I remember watching Live Aid, well, live. And I do remember how Queen brought the house down. It was amazing.
I also remember being jealous (and sad) at the time, with all those rock fundraisers that were going on, that Styx was never a part of any of them. I remember Steve Perry getting a moment on "We Are the World" and wondering why Dennis was not included. Ah well......

Dennis was not involved because the organisers dreaded he would try to dictate the whole song and would turn Michael Jackson into a black Dr Rightious with Bubbles as Kilroy.......

I still have the vhs tapes from the original mtv broadcast somewhere. Don't even know if they even still work. I was at the Philly portion and it was one hell of a time. On the dvd, they had to cut the LEd Zeppelin reunion where Phil Collins played drums. Plante and Page wouldn't allow it. YOu can note that for the concert where Phil was playing drums, the set was set up right handed, when Phil plays them left handed. Just stupid stuff I remember from my younger days.

I have to agree.....Fancy that.
What do you think of Queen going out on tour with Paul Rodgers?
He's not Freddie. But I am really looking forward to the tour.

Should they go on tour without Freddie ?
Should thin Lizzy tour without Lynott ?
Isnt this tour a way of making huge money. Deacon wont be part of it, he insists on keeping Freddies memory alive by not playing in Queen ever again. No amount of money will sway him and I applaud him for that.
They should leave well alone and keep Queen in there memories.

Oh, I thought it was because of Dennis' light sensitivity.
I mean, who would want to be in a dark room with Michael Jackson?

Hear! Hear! DarrenUK! I totally agree. I can think of a few other instances where this would be true, but won't go into those.

Well yes.
A lot of people want to see this tour. So they will make huge money.
Interesting comment from Froy, Queen can tour without Freddie Mercury. But Styx isn't Styx without his hero.

If Freddie were living and Paul Rogers took his place would you go see it?
I dare you to answer

Than your an idiot and not a true Queen fan
When the band needed him to- what the hell is that?
Only a selfish band would even ask a guy who was sick to tour
So if the guy is sick with aids and could not tour Darren would say who cares get another singer
Dude your way wrong here and anyone who supports current Styx is way wong as well. No loyalty at all

Freddie was sick with aids and actually died from it. And actually, Chuck has HIV and can't do a full tour. And Dennis had this light sensitivity thing - Epstein Barr - and couldn't tour.
We all know that it wasn't Dennis' illness and waiting that was the issue. It was JY, Tommy, and Chuck's inability to work with him

Yea waiting for him to get over the illness please enough already your arguements are half baked.
It was JY, Tommy, and Chuck's inability to work with him

watched every minute of it, memories:
How bad organizer Bob Geldoff's band the Boomtown Rats sounded
Madonna swearing on stage
Crosby Stills Nash and yes Young
Mick ripping that dress off Tina (no boob though justin)
Phil Collins playing in London, boarding the concord and playing Philly in the same day
Paul McCartney's mike not working
