Why do you think he only performs 5 shows a month as appose to other artists who play 15 a month?

There's gotta be a hefty price tag logging a 20 piece orchestra around + the 5 piece rock back-up and then the road crew. He's gotta be able to cover that.I wonder how big the theatres are (as crowd capacity?) ?he is playing.
I think Dennis is doing what suits him, a few shows here and there, close to home and family, doing what he likes.Good for him.

The orchestra isn't his and therefore makes it a bit more moveable. He hires orchestras from the area and as such is in part tied to their scheduled availability as well as a venues.

Really hope he comes to Boston area. Would be great to see him at Symphony Hall in Boston with the Pops or the BSO.

Dennis hires/rents an orchestra/symphony from each city that he visits. Sometimes he performs with just his band. There are a few times he's been performing with just his piano and no back up.

Promoters from all over have been in contact with Dennis' "people" and have been asking him to perform. I know a few of the dates didn't work out due to other concerts scheduled. For example, the grand opening in Madison (WI) for a theatre, the weekend they offered didn't work out since Dennis was already performing somewhere else.

Dennis also has been doing a LOT of corporate shows. These are the shows that the public usually isn't aware of. Same for Carrot Styx too. They were in Milwaukee AGAIN a few months ago for a corporate show that no one (fans) knew about. It was for a local company.

He also has been traveling doing radio and tv shows. Some of those have been appearing on his website. For example, during the holidays Dennis appeared on WGN with Smashing Pumpkin's lead singer Billy Corgan.

He will be in Milwaukee this Monday to have brunch with 12 lucky fans (and a lucky #13 fan - LOL  ) that will be selected by the radio station The Brew.

I know he doesn't prefer to perform in the month of January any more. I know I wouldn't - LOL

I don't know if this goes for Dennis, but sometimes musicians just want to relax and enjoy life. Some of them have "been there, done that" with all the touring and promoting years ago.
Some will keep going on and on and on and on and on, etc :)

I hope you all have a GREAT day - I'm off to work - LOL

Hey Suite Madame Blue, or anyone out there, is there any chance of Dennis and company getting down here to the Biloxi MS area, or the two big cities on either side of us, New Orleans or Moblie AL? Styx plays in Biloxi, Gulfport every year expect one since 96. Seen them all expect one, and had a death in family that year. Dennis needs get down here. Just were I live there is a 13,000 seat collisuem, a couple middle size theaters, and several 3,000-4,000 seat casino rooms. And a Hard Rock Casino is opening late this year. Air Supply is playing in the next week or two. Journey has been down here 2 or 3 times. There is 2 or 3 good shows a week going on around here, and that is not counting New Orleans or Mobile.-ERIC

I just double checked, it looks like just with his band, no orchestra.

Sorry

There will be another city in the South announced soon. I'm pretty sure it will be with an orchestra :)
