Questions for Dennis

Postby SuiteMadameBlue » Thu Jan 13, 2005 7:53 am

This is a serious post, I'll be funny later - LOL

If you had a chance to meet and had the time to talk to Dennis, what 3 questions would you ask him?

Thanks again in advance :)

Would you ever consider (1) A Christmas CD and/or (2) A second Broadway collection of songs.

Would you ever perform by yourself, Dennis and keyboard, for small, intimate shows? (I would kill for a ticket to this)

Would you ever do an album (and attached tour) of duets, you pick the person (or persons) with whom you would perform?

I'm with Bugsy on an unplugged tour.

I would second the Christmas CD and 10 more on Broadway.

But I would also ask him why he hasn't recorded/written any new Rock N Roll since Boom Child.

From what I "heard", Dennis is working on a few projects. His new cd should be done late 2005/early 2006. Hopefully it will be completed this year

CO HEADLINE TOUR WITH STYX ?

That show would be IN THE SQUARE.

Similar to in the round but the stage would be a boxing ring with lazers bouncing off all 4 corners...

In the red corner dressed in white with ridiculous white boots the man Froy calls the devil, ime talking about Lucifer, Mesoscothales, bielzebob, the angel of the bottomless pit....JY

In the blue corner dressed in that awful black and white t shirt that makes him look like an ageing onion salesman from France DENNIS DEYOUNG.

WHEN THE BELL SOUNDS GET READY FOR THE MAIN EVENT......

As bizarre as it sounds, a DDY/Styx tour would be terrific! The two setlists combined would make for one heck of a classic Styx setlist. For the encore, Dennis could join the boys for Grand Illusion and Come Sail Away! Okay, I'm done being absolutely ridiculous (the word dysfunctional comes to mind), but it would be a GREAT show :D

1. Would songs like Pieces Of Eight and Come Sail Away have sounded drastically different if you had released them as a solo artist? If so, how?

2. You seemed very disappointed in Brave New World in an interview I read (here at melodicrock.com). In hindsight, would you have preferred that album had not been released?

3. Any chance we might ever see you on stage in a Roboto mask again?

Alternate question: Will you ever play Omaha?

My questions for Dennis are question he'd not be inclined to answer, and that I wouldn't have the Kahunas to ask if I ever did meet him, but here they are anyways..........

During all of your years on the road, were you always 100 percent faithful to Suzanne ? If so, how were you possibly able to avoid what must have been enormous temptations ?

What about the whole Divorce from Styx pisses you off most ?

can we sit down at a Piano and sing a Duet ? song of your choice...I've been singing them all in my shower for years !

and the question I'd really ask......can i have your autograph ?

Suite.......gee, never really thought about that.....His Double CD is so dark in color, as is the Soundstage DVD so a signature wouldnt show up well there. The artwork on his Ultimate Collection CD is light enough though......I guess that's what I would go with if I had my choice.

What ??????

You would not choose your Music Time 12" ?

If DDY signed that it may double the value to $1.50

1) Would you appear with STYX at a hall of fame induction type of ceremony, and would you play with them at said event?

2) Would you like to knee JY in the groin next time he attempts to sing Loreli?

3) Do you still make money off the name STYX?

Two posts from old Crib's of Suzanne's on DDY's Site that may be of interest within this post.

Hi suzanne, great to see dennis is flourishing on his own, someone wanted to take me to see "styx" playing north of toronto, when i found out styx was jy and tommy only,i couldn't think of seeing them without dennis,as i had such great memories of styx backstage in buffalo at shea's theatre, the band was practicing accapella,it was great,i also had backstage passes at hamilton and detroit, all when styx first started touring north america,i have pictures from the ottawa ontario concert,i will send you a pic if you have a mailing address
Glen

Dear Glen,
Thank you for the offer. We would love to see any photos you have. Dennis will be writing a book and we are looking for new photo's.

The address to send your pictures:

Grand Illusion Music

15941 S. Harlem Ave Suite 268

Tinley Park, Ill 60477

I just wanted to let you know that I have loved Styx since I heard COME SAIL AWAY in 1977 when I was 7 years old. I am 34 now, and Styx is still my favorite band. I have every LP ever released in the U.S., even the first four hard to find albums with original covers. I have always loved the songs by Dennis the most, and I also love his solo collection. I would really like to send an album to be autographed by Dennis. One of my favorite Dennis songs is on the Equinox album and entitled LONELY CHILD. Thanks., Brian Vidrine

Dear Brian,
Thank you for the kind words. Please send your album cover with a self addressed envelope to:

Grand Illusion Music

15941 S. Harlem Ave Suite 268

Tinley Park, Ill. 60477

Dennis will be happy to sign it for you!

---------------------------

She has said a number of times that if you send it, Dennis will sign it.

I would just make sure someone signs for it's receipt. Not because it is DDY, just because it is a good practice for this type of thing.
