Not even close to that happening
The current lineup has killed any chances of it happening
Augeri held JRNY together Gowan has torn Styx apart

LOL - why do you think I've been posting so much? I enjoy looking at the Johnny Depp picture
I was going to change it last week. I'm still debating which picture to put up.
Hmmm, I'll see what I can do tonight

Why has Gowan torn Styx apart ??????
Would that have been the case whoever replaced Dennis ?
Its not Gowans fault, he was asked to join after JY,Tommy & Dennis split not before, its not as if he forced Dennis out. I cant see why Gowan gets the blame.
If Roger Hodgson had replaced Dennis would you be on his case also?
Other circumstances torn Styx apart not Lawrence Gowan.
And you mention Augeri holding Journey together well if you seen Journey Behind The Music you will hear Perry say, dont fracture what we have, give me time to get fit.
The band went on without Perry just as Styx went on without Dennis as Jonathan Cain said. Neal wants his band back and is sick of waiting for Perry so they went on. So Perry like DDY never left by choice they were both asked to commit to a tour and for reasons we all know they could not so on went their respective bands. If Gowan torn Styx apart by accepting the offer to join then so did Augeri tear Journey apart.

While I myself don't care for Gowan's singing, I have never viewed him as having anything to do with the split. I think he took on a thankless role and is doing the best he can with it.
I see some similarities between Journey and Styx, but let's try to remember that each BTM had it's own agenda. As I recall, Journey did give Mr. Perry time. Styx did not. Each had their reasons. All animosity over the split aside, since we are now pushing 6 years ,perhaps it' best to just accept that they had their reasons and life continues to go on.
I have said before, and I will say it again...no one in this band handled this split well. And it is the fans who suffered as a result. It amazes me that after all this time, the fans are still fractured over this. Myself included.
Peace,
Sadie

No thats not true Dennis was supposed to come back remember
It was only suppose to be temporary
Gowan is making a living off of Dennis DeYoung
If he was such a Styx fan he would get out of the way and let the band reunite with Dennis the guy who started the band in the first place,
If Perry asked to come back to JRNY I would bet you anything SA would step aside Gowan wouldn't he thinks he's been in the band from the begining, If I took Dennis's place I would tell the band no way am I singing a Dennis song let Dennis do it himself , But no Gowan night after night sings songs about Dennis;s wife totally riduclous.
I would never see a concert with the ticket saying STYX unless Dennis was on the stage,
I cant see why Gowan gets the blame.
\
He's an enabler he gets the blame/
If Roger Hodgson had replaced Dennis would you be on his case also?
YES I would tell him to get lost and go back to Supertramp
I email Roger all the time and tell him he 's a fool to not be in Supertramp , He is not a smart man.
Other circumstances torn Styx apart not Lawrence Gowan.
Your right but Lawrence Gowen keeps them apart
And you mention Augeri holding Journey together well if you seen Journey Behind The Music you will hear Perry say, dont fracture what we have, give me time to get fit.
And to this day he has still not sang 1 note in public
More to that story and not the same as Dennis;s

As usual Dennis can do no wrong and Styx can do no right .JY is evil Dennis is a saint,Gowan is a leach.

Froy, I'm guessing since you are such a big fan of Dennis', that you've had the opportunity to see at least one of his live shows? I have, and it's really a pretty spectacular experience, isn't it? My point being, if Dennis and company were still united, how much of this direction for Dennis would really be able to come through? There would be no orchestra(and the song Suite Madame Blue doesn't sound complete to me without an orchestra anymore), no Hunchback tunes, and we probably wouldn't get obscure gems like "Black Wall".
Yeah, I think the hand that Tommy/J.Y. dealt Dennis was pretty low, but it ended up really working to his advantage, and it's probably really the best thing for all involved. I don't fault Gowan for taking on the part, I mean, if he didn't do it, it's not as if someone else wouldn't have, so why not him? Do you really think that Tommy & J.Y. would have just given up and asked Dennis back? You also can't really fault the guys for not wanting to include songs like "Great Expectations" & "High Crimes" on their albums. Tommy & J.Y. have the same vision, Dennis does not. It all changed with "Cornerstone", but at least on that one, and "Paradise", Dennis still rocked a little with songs like "Borrowed Time" & "Rockin' The Paradise".

Come to think of it.Singing along with 20000 others in a big stadium or sitting on your bottom with 500 others eating filet mignon while the show is on ,is OK .But seeing Carrot Styx with 2000 people casually enjoying themselves does not cut it.Froy will not see a carrot Styx show, yet he knows that everybody there is having the worst time of their lives.I get more and more confused. But maybe that is the whole point?

Maybe some day you will figure it out
Fact is if Dennis came back the fans would love it
There would be thousands of former Styx fans returning to support the band Right now all Styx has is a few thousand Shaw fans thats it
They would not need triple bills anymore
And I know for a fact nobody would be saying bring back Gowan
Not 1 person

How about 6 or 7
Seeing back To Chicago blew me away
His shows are stellar
Current Styx is not even in the same league.

Oh, give me a break. This is such an ignorant statement. I believe all it takes is somebody willing to pay the fees and that's it. It's not a popularity contest or something.
The reason Journey has a star and Styx doesn't is simply because there are people willing to put up the money for the star.

Let me just tell ya something
I would never set foot in a place that the current lineup was playing
Airports Bus stations Train stations whatever
I have seen The Real Styx band a hundred times
Why would I want to see a bad cover band of Styx ?
Why would I go see a show with a guy who immitates Dennis and ruins my past hundred shows ? Forget it My past memories are preseved.
Do I attend current JRNY shows you bet Perry quit Dennis was thrown aside
If Perry came back would I see JRNY you bet
If Dennis came back to Styx would I go you bet.

It is OK for Todd to play with Styx as the Drummer because he replaced John Panozzo due to death. This would be fine whether Styx had Dennis or didn't have Dennis.
It is Ok for JY to play with Styx as he is considered a founding member.
It is OK for Tommy to play with Styx because he replaced John Curjulewski who quit.
It is OK for Chuck to play with Styx because he is considered a founding member. However, because he is fighting HIV and can't play the number of shows Styx does every year, really is not considered a member of Styx.
Ricky and Gowan are just considered hacks on the payroll.
So with 3 of the 4 surving classic members still in and involved with Styx it is a cover band and Dennis playing solo with no one else associated with the band is fine just doesn't make sense.
I'm with Black Wall on this one. Not based on the way the split came about and all the BS that may have been said about it. But looking at things as they sit now. Everyone seems to be happy with the direction they are able to go in.
If Dennis was still with Styx, we would never be able to hear the solo stuff he did or the orchestral stuff. Now that it appears that Dennis has been able to get his health issues either behind him or at least in check, he looks like to be returning to the music scene in a meaningful way with a variety of different shows.
I am hoping to get a heavy dose of Dennis this year with Styx going to Europe. I'm looking forward to it. I'll also see Styx if they come around. Do most fans wish they could have worked things out, sure. But if you haven't seen the show the current lineup is putting on, then you have no right to criticize. Sure they've stepped away from most of Dennis songs, which many think is wrong. If Dennis returned to Styx, the crowds might be slightly larger, but they still wouldn't fill a 20,000 seat arena in the US.

For once, it would be nice if you actualy KNEW what you were talking about - but you don't.
All it takes is a $15,000 "donation" to the WOF and some hype. That's it. How else can someone like Kermit the Frog get a star? Or, how about Donald Duck? Journey is no more special then Styx when it comes to the HOF. That is the simple truth.

Didnt Styx (With Dennis) play a show in Atlanta a few years back with an orchestra ?
You see a snippet of it on the Return To Paradise DVD bonus section.
Tho I could be wrong.
Wouldnt Balarina be great with an orchestra.......right after the Debussy piece....as it is on Crystal Ball.....also This Old Man with an orchestra bring those both in along with Queen Of Spades and Pieces Of Eight and lose
Lady
Babe
Dont Let It End
Rockin The Paradise
Ime sure we could manage a tour without them being played.
My Set List for DDY
Grand Illusion
Dont Wait For Heroes
Queen Of Spades
Black Wall
Clare De Lune
Balarina
Desert Moon
Pieces Of Eight
Show Me The Way
Castle Walls
Paradise
Nothing Ever Goes As Planned
Suite Madame Blue
This Old Man
Best Of Times
Come Sail Away
Grand Finale
What do you think ?

Yes they did, at Chastain Park. I have the audio of that concert.
It was a great show, though I think the orchestra wasn't used as much as it should/could have been.

No never saw them live why would I ?
Heard a few recordings Gowan is terrible
Why would I go see a guy who sings as bad as that ?
Carrott plays the same songs year after year
I have seen these songs with the classic lineup many times
Why do I need to see it with the wrong lineup?
Why does anyone want to see this show with the wrong lineup?
I dont understand,
