Since Suite brought up Pieces of Eight and Dennis' new interpretation of it, are there any songs out there that you would like to hear with a new interpretation...other than BCM of CSA?

I always liked the song Golden Lark. I wish Dennis would now play that song live, and that Styx would of rerecorded that song during their A&M heyday years. Other songs I wish would be rerecorded or played live are Young Man, Love In The Midnight, Crystal Ball, with the additional verse, Wont Go Wasted, and I REALLY liked JY"s song 'Waiting' off of City Slicker.

I would also think Dennis would add Roseland to his Lost Treasures set. Dennis has stated publically that he loves that song and that it should of been released as a single.

I almost forgot I wish Tommy would rerecord with Styx and play live Stop Knockin, Its All In How You Say It, Who I Am, and A Place To Call My Own.

I totally agree with your fondness of the song Golden Lark.....one of my all time favs. I'm not sure what else could be done with the song though.....if anything, it would be to add additional orchestration to it.

So if it's ever re-done, I'd prefer DDY solo/orchestra over an updated version by Styx w/Dennis.

This would be cool only IF the classic lineup were still together.

I have often wondered what the Wooden Nickel albums would have sounded like if Tommy was with them. If they were still together, I would have liked them to revisit the songs from that era and re-release them with the sound that was developed during Grand Illusion or Paradise Theatre.

Has any band ever done this, revisited songs they did early in their careers during the latter years, placing the present day spin on the old songs. I know Styx did it with Lady and The Police did it with Every Breath You Take.

For what it is worth... Anthrax has done just that. They took a bunch of songs they originally had hits with when Joey Belladonna was singing, and re-recorded them with John Bush singing (no relation to George W).

This had some good, and some bad results. It would have been nice had the production quality of the re-recording had been as clean as the original.

Bands tread on holy water when opting to re-record classic songs. The fact that Styx did it with Lady would have been considered heresy had it not been for the fact that it got dennis and tommy together in the studio for the first time in 12 years. You risk many things - but ultimately that fact that SOME percentage of the people who liked the original will hate the new recording while people who never liked the song will likely still not like it - so it's kind-of a losing proposition

I have been listening to "Superstars" lately and would love to hear that song, but it would have to be with Dennis and Tommy. I'm looking forward to hearing "Queen of Spades" live next month, I never thought I'd hear that one live.

I'll have to listen to "Golden Lark" a few more times.

Well I am still hoping to hear I'm Okay. I think an interpretation of Little Fugue in G and Father OSA would be neat with an orchestra.

Ballarina with an orchestra and choir would be awesome...

Father OSA and Ballerina = 2 EXCELLENT choices for DDY to consider in the future, especially with a Choir added to the Orchestra.

If Dennis could add a few like those to each tour, he could keep his show fresh for some time to come !

Don't forget he's playing cities that he hasn't played yet in his solo career, so it will be new to those fans - except the goofy ones that keep going city to city - LOL

When he comes back to Milwaukee, I'm sure his show will be a little different, maybe a new song or two, don't know.

As for "I'm Okay", I don't think he'll be playing that live

For Borrowed Time, I would like to hear how it wuld have sounded without Tommy's imput. Update the words, "Don't look now, but here comes the 90's", that old.

Borrowed Time is a great song, fantastic intro, but yes, no, part hurts the song. True it adds to the sound of the soung. You sure will not forget it. My youngest daughter calls it, the yes no song-ERIC

Great White re-recorded some of their songs and re-released a greatest hits package about four years ago.

I remember we had this discussion about the "yes, no" parts in "Borrowed Time", I personally don't like the parts in the song. If I remember, I think most of us that posted about it were split on liking/disliking it. My kids refer it to the "yes, no" song too - LOL

If he does "update" the beginning, how would he start it? "Don't look now, but here come the ___________________"

Zeroes? 00's? 2000's?

Of course this would be the most boring, but he could just choose to omit the opening line and begin with "I was so cool back in . . . ."

I would actually like to hear Dennis redo Gowans Criminal Mind. Its a haunting song that I feel Dennis could do justice to. The song kind of reminds me of Golden Lark.
