Both are coming to Omaha. I'm planning on going. Anyone else listen to these artists when you're not spinning Styx CDs? Or going to see them?

I like both of these artists. Like a lot of people or groups I like, though, I only like certain songs from each.

I am sure you will enjoy the heck out of both concerts. Green Day is on a big roll right now and I bet that will be an enthusiastic crowd.

Enjoy!

I wouldn't mind seeing Green Day. I saw John Mellencamp years ago and was a little bored. It was during a Farm Aid concert and between each song he would talk about how important the farmers are to the community, which they are. If he talked between every 3 or 4 songs it would've been better. I'm sure the concert's going to be great!! At this time I don't have either cd's from these artists.

Have a great time :)

I Walk Alone is one of my favorites :D I also really like Scattered (and the rest of the Nimrod and Dookie albums). I like Warning and Insomniac to a lesser degree, and I haven't listened to American Idiot a whole lot yet. But I'm excited to see them. I've wanted to for a very long time.

Mellencamp is another one I've waited years to see. Hopefully he won't talk to much :D He could just play the whole Lonesome Jubilee album from start to finish as far as I'm concerned.

I saw Mellencamp in the Mid- 80's.......Scarecrow tour, I believe. I was very impressed with his stage presence, either he was a great actor, or he was having the time of his life up there !

Of course, this was prior to his health problems, so I cant say if his 2005 show will compare to what I saw. Please post a review if you are up to it after seeing the show !

I would love a review, Ash. I've really liked what little I've heard by Slipknot. They're one of those backburner bands -- you know, the ones you always say you're going to check out but haven't got around to yet. Yeah, that's me and Slipknot.

I don't think Mellencamp will do a lot of talking, I think it was just during that particular concert tour. I'm sure he'll put on a great show.

As for concerts this year, I'll be seeing Dennis at least 2 more times and Night Ranger for sure. I have to wait to see who'll be at Summerfest this year, I'll go to a few shows down there.

I know I'm bad, we just sold our Motley Crue tickets on Ebay for over $300.00. It was an easy $200.00 + profit.

Hi Leesa :) I hope you're doing good. Summerfest is the largest music festival in the United States, it's located right on the lakefront of Lake Michigan in Milwaukee (WI). It's an 11 day event and has a ton of stages that feature all types of music. I think Styx has played there on and off since the 1970's, they're one of the most popular bands down there, no matter who's in the band. Last year they had a 1980's night, that was such a mistake, they had Styx, Pat Benatar, Tesla, Colin (?) from Men at Work and about 4 other popular bands playing at all different stages at the same time. I saw Night Ranger there last year, great show.

Here are Night Ranger Tour Dates:
