The Lost Brotherhood

I pulled out one of my cdrs that I made a few years back, has some Larry on it. The Lost Brotherhood is awesome! Never really listened to it before. But this song needs to be listened too. If your a Dennis fan, which am very much, put it on. This could be a Styx song. Been digging thru my collection, for some other Larry songs. Always thought Larry was a great keyboardist, and writer, but his singing was ok.

Still like Dennis better, alone and in Styx, but listen to Larrys' stuff, he has some good songs out there-ERIC

Froy, you have been called many things in this board, open minded is not one of them !

I'd be willing to give ol' Gowan a listen-to, but not if I have to spend my own hard earned $$$ to do so.....

Let me ask you a question
If Dennis was not thrown out of his own band would we even be talking about Gowan? Who cares about Larry Gowan ?
I sure dont /

Yes, the clear indicator of not caring about someone is talking about them obsessively.

Go back to bed Zan
Nobody talks about Gowan unless pervoked

Well folks, let's all take a sec to be glad Froy is not head of a team of medical scientists in search of the cure for cancer, in which case no data newer than 1983 would be researched.

My guess is Froy has missed out on lots of new music. He's shut the door on the possibility of anything being good other than what he knows. He's like our parents telling us rock isn't music, or like Sinatra dissing rock music as noise made by 'cretonous goons"...or like the old music critics who told us Styx sucked in their heyday.

DeYoung is represented by Froy
Froy = closed mindedness.
Close mindedness = ignorance.

Hence, Froy continues to shoot his own 'cause' in the foot.

Not everyone here believes or agrees with this assessment. Wait. I guess the "closed-minded" do.

ADAM: Well, I am glad to hear it!

I admit I might get a little over-zealous when "pervoked". (Would that a verb which means to be 'Okayed' by a 'Perv'?)

I will admit that Froy can do some serious "pervoking" here. And some prevoking too! And a lot of postvoking as well!

Looks like the pervoking comment has resulted in the evoking of some revoking due to provoking.

Which should lead some to invoke their right to state unequivocably their need to rebuke what has been spoken.

In case you haven't noticed, this is a Styx board, and Larry is a member of Styx! I have nothing against Dennis, to me he is Styx! But he is not in Styx, he and the band have moved on! For the better, in both cases, but that is just me. Since Larry is a member of Styx, we can talk about him. But if the Dennis fall out had never happened, no I do not think Larry would ever be brought up. But hey, If Dennis was never in Styx, would he have made it, and would we be talking about him?

Larry is a great player, a good writer, and an ok singer! His songs are better than his songs that he sings of Dennis. I DO NOT MEAN THAT LARRY'S SONGS ARE BETTER THAN DENNIS, BUT BETTER THAN HIS TAKE ON THE DENNIS SONGS!!!!!!!!!!!

Who care about Larry? Tommy, JY, Glen, Todd, Chuck, Ricky! And I like most of his music! :)

So Froy if you don't like Larry, that is cool, But everyone is not like you, and I'm open to new things within a band.-ERIC

Not in my mind he isnt
Is Keith Marks a member of Styx also?
Should we get his tapes to see how he sings.
You first have to believe Styx even egsists before you worry about who the members are,
To me Styx has been dead for years
Just like The Beach Boys and others out there,

If you like Larry Gowan more power to ya.

Keith Marks is Styx's production manager since 1990.

And yes, if there are recordings out there, *I'd* like to hear them!

The issue is not his hits the issue is his awefull versions of Dennis songs
I can listen to Augeri sing Perry all day but Gowan forget it
He's just terrible singing any Dennis music
If he goes solo I will take the cds until then he should be thrown out of the band for holding up the Styx tour how dare he.

ADAM: Well Froy, you know how I hate to differ with you but the ACTUAL TOPIC of this thread is “The Lost Brotherhood” (Look up at the top of the window, see it?). Let’s see, how can I explain this? That is the title of a Gowan tune. And that means THE ISSUE IS GOWAN’S SONG “THE LOST BROTHERHOOD and his solo music in general.

However, the issue is NOT Steve Augieri.

And I think the word “aweful” would mean FULL OF AWE.

I thought he hates to listen to Augieri sing Gowan. Or Gowan sing Perry. Or something.

Maybe to give you Styx fans a break, Gowan could join Journey and Augeri could join Styx...Then Froy would be on the Journey forum constantly complaining and not here.
