For all you Chicago/Illinois/Southeastern WI fans. You'll be able to hear Dennis on WLUP on Monday, March 21st. He'll be live-in studio (12-1) during the Rock n' Roll Diner. (The Loop 97.9)

He'll be taking requests from his double live cd plus the Wooden Nickel Recordings.

Hey, I'm not busy on Monday. Guess who's going to call in and request "Unfinished Song"?????

On that happy note, I hope you all have a GREAT day :)

Unfortunately, here is the WLUP note on live streaming:

LISTEN LIVE

You asked for a better site and we are listening. Based on your input we’ve gone to work retooling the Loop's website to give you a better online experience.

Unfortunately, there is one change we aren’t happy about. Rising royalty costs and bandwidth charges have forced us to stop streaming the Loop for the time being. We are actively looking for a high quality affordable option and hope to have it back soon.

Thanks for your patience.

Woo HOO! I called all the way from TEXAS, thanks to someone providing me with the phone number, and I got on and talked to Dennis on air.

I asked him about the new CD and he confirmed that he has 15 songs done for it but has no idea when he may release it. (The 12th of Never, is when he said and I told him he BETTER not, lol!)

Anyway....it was cool to talk to him and I got to hear a lot of the interview while I was on hold.

Wait a minute........the songs, 15 of 'em are DONE, but he's in no hurry to release the CD ?

someone PLEASE help me to understand what is gained by sitting on them indefinately ? cus I don't get it ! what's his ( lack of ) motivation ??

The only thing I can think of is he thinks it's too soon after the release of the live CD, but I would think sales of one would enhance sales of the other, not hinder them.

Someone enlighten me if you can.

hasn't his live cd been out for almost 2 years now?

My only guess here would be that currently the Double Live is still doing ok in sales, at least on Amazon.com it is.

He has the DVD coming out.

Styx has the CD coming out.

Wooden Nickel Collection just came out.

He may be trying to figure the best time to release this in view of all the above. This was the first interview, though, where he did not say anything about the "end of the year."

Knowing how Dennis likes to tweak things, the songs may not be in quite the final form that would satisfy him.

All of this is conjecture on my part.

It was recorded in April 2003 ( I know for it was my birthday) and released in Nov. 2003.

As for his comments today, well I took them to be that he was looking to decide when to release his material, rather like Bugsy said.

I believe the bulk of the material is finished, but like Bugsy also said, he will refine and refine and refine until he is satisfied.

My guess is that he can't find a record company to release it.

Actually, I believe he does have a contract with Rounder, however I don't know that for sure.
