IF Dennis Returned

This is the set list that Dennis played the other night.

Grand Illusion
Lady
Best Thing
Desert Moon
Lorelie
Pieces of 8
Show Me The Way
Castle Walls
Mr Roboto
Dont' Let It End
Rockin The Paradise
Queen of Spades
Light Up
UnFinished Song
Suite Madame Blue
Borrowed Time
Babe
Best of Times
Come sail Away
Whole Lotta Shakin Going On
Great Balls of Fire

If Dennis were back with Styx, we could say that the show would probably be about the same length. But we could also say that a number of Tommy's and JY's songs would also be added.

Which songs would go away? Because we all know that they would never play just DDY's songs.

Since this woukld be no more trhan another greatest hits tour/cash grab, Deletes would be..........

- Roboto

- Babe

- Borrowed Time

- The 2 Jerry Lee Songs ( although if some of the new Styx covers were added.....)

- Desert Moon

- Show me the Way

- Don't let it end

- Unfinished Song

Leaves 11 Dennis songs by my count.....I'm leaving Castle Walls in, though I'm not sure it would make the cut.

Being very honest with you, NH. Even in a make-believe world where that might happen, I don't want it to happen. So the point is moot with me.

I like things just the way they are.

awwwwww.........you guys are NO FUN !

Dennis and Styx will do this........it's in the Rock n Roll Bible ! Here are the signs to watch for.

1. The Palestinians and Isrealies will declare peace

2. China will become a Democracy

3. Man will land on Mars

4. Martians will hitch a ride back to Earth on the Spaceship

5. Steve Perry will re-join Journey

6. The 4 Beatles will re-unite

7. Everything published in the National Enquirer will be proven true beyond a shadow of a doubt

8. Hillary Clinton will pick Jeb Bush as a running mate in 2008

9. They'll lose the Election to the ( Jesse and Michael ) Jackson-Jackson Ticket

10. All the manufacturing Jobs will return to the US.

keep a watchful eye out for these things to occur, and remember....you read it here 1st !

Signed, The Prophet Classic !

If this actually were to happen, which.. if the guys don't get too old first, I actually don't think it's completely impossible..

They would ditch..

2.Light Up
3.Castle Walls
4.Desert Moon
5.Borrowed Time

LOL, I work up at the high school and I see kids wearing Styx t-shirts and other classic shirts. I always have to ask them where they got them from and it's usually their parents "old" shirts. The kids think the guys from Styx, REO, Journey, etc. are really, really old, I'm like thanks a lot - LOL

I'll play Classic :)

Okay, these are the songs that I would take away:

Unfinished Song  , Desert Moon, Great Balls of Fire and Shakin'

This is what I would like the concert to be today, I'll probably change the set list next week :)

Gee Suite, one could assume by your set list that you aren't a big fan of JY on lead vocals ! I'm sure this was just an oversight on your part.....nice of you to include You Need Love for him though.

Even though I love the song, It wouldn't break my heart to see Suite Madame Blue left off the song list....I'm kind of tired of the part where Dennis holds the note forever.

I Could see adding Great White Hope to the set for JY.....or Lords of the Ring ( anything but Miss America ! )

Classic, "You Need Love" is the very first Styx song that I ever heard, it means a lot to me. TO ME, JY's voice changed over the years and it wasn't for the better. He sounds a little angry with his singing and songs, my opinion. I guess I'll add Lords of the Ring, I'll figure out where to put it.

I really have to hear "Suite Madame Blue" live, GREAT song!! I like to hear the note, but I guess we can take "the note" off my list and keep the song :)

In 97 when the toured, they did not play Suite madame Blue. Instead DDY sang Queen of Spades. Many of people asked the sound men after the show, where was Suite?-ERIC

Dennis has said many times he regrets EVER adding that held note, which he says he did in a concert in Canada many years ago. It became a sort of expected part of the song after that and he claims he has always dreaded singing it since then.

In his WLUP interview, he says sometimes four songs away from SMB, he starts thinking about having to sing it and worries about it until it is over.

That was nice that people were looking for me - JUST KIDDING

It's a great song and has to stay in the set list. (IMO)

I heard the interview Bugsy, maybe he'll start taking it out :?:

If the note goes, the song can stay...it really de-rails the momentum of the song to that point, and forestalls the beginning of it's kick-ass-ness
( Classic speak, I know.....but kick-ass-ness SHOULD be a word !!!! )
