YOUNG MAN WITH EVERYTHING

Postby yogi » Thu Apr 07, 2005 4:25 am

I have ALWAYS like the song Young Man. It sounds GREAT on the remastered Wooden Nickle collection. I have a question & a comment, or maybe its two questions.

First the question: On the credits or the names listed for the song 'Young Man' it says Rick Young / James Young. Is Rick Young JY's brother? Is this the brother that died and was the inspiration behind the song These Are The Times?

Now the comment I love the way the song One with Everything ends. Great drums, and keyboards that TOTALLY signifies progressive rock and roll. The song 'Young Man' kind of ends the same way. Do they both kind of end the same way or am I crazy???

Young Man has always been one of my favorite JY songs. It is really a great song with terrific lyrics. JY's vocals are good and the keyboard break in it is awesome.

My only bone to pick with it is the poignant ending "Come home my son..." etc., should have been sung by Dennis. I think it would have sounded so much better.

I would love to know more of the history of this song.

Rick is the brother that died. I don't know for sure, but it would be too great a coincidence that it isn't the same Rick listed in the writing credits. Hope that helps a little

Now, bugs, you'd think anything would sound better with DDY singing it, wouldn't you? LOL! :D
