Does Dennis still get a percentage?

Does he have the same sort of deal that I've heard Steve Perry has... whereby he still gets a percentage of anything Journey is doing... even new stuff... as a condition to allowing them to continue on without him?

Anyone know any details of the Styx settlement.

I don't know the answer, and I'll bet there maybe less than a dozen people on this planet who do, but my guess would be (drum roll please):

Y - E - S

And then quickly destroy them

Actually, since I'm playing "Know-It-All" here, my guess would be the percentage does NOT include new records...just a bit from concert revenues.

There was a settlement. Terms trhat DDY agreed to. Perhaps the incentive was the belief that he couldn't win. Or it could've seemed lucrative enough.

For the record, I would love to have a piece of something that pays for me NOT to show up...

tell you what - just send me the money, and I'll be sure and buy a T-shirt at DDY's show tonight. He's actually make MORE money that way (not even sure if he'd make anything of Cyclorama), and I'd have the pleasure of knowing I got a free shirt. I accept PayPal and money transfers. ;-)

Which Lady shirt...I have the black one with the pink lettering, and I have the Roboto shirt...I missing the blue lady and the pink Lady...but, somehow...I think I'll manage.

And if you get a shirt...remember...they run small in size.....

Peace

I'm no lawyer. Although I did stay at a Holiday Inn Xpress last night.

But I am pretty sure that Denny doesn't get any concert revenue. And he didn't get anything for Cyclorama.

But he most certainly retains publishing rights on anything he wrote while in the band.

I don't feel like kansas666 has to verify what he's "pretty sure" of anymore than some of the astronomical claims of Froy.

We're a chat board fer chrissakes. Aint no court-o-law!

The way I see it everyone "knows" what they "know" from whatever source they think they have...

Well, if he's so sure to shoot down something like that he should elaborate.

I'd doubt that Dennis receives compensation from Cyclorama or from the bands tours. Beyond that, for me, speculating about the outcome of the settlement is something that I feel is none of my business.

Business deal. Let's leave some of their business...just that...their business.

Peace

But Sadie,

99 percent of what we talk about here isn't our business....it's theirs, but all this would get rather boring very quickly without a healthy dose of conjecture and a whole lot of personal opinion...don't you agree ?

at least that's my take on things.

I sure wish that guy ( his name was Sterling or Spencer something or other ) who was going to write the "tell all" book about the band had done so.......

If everyone in the band past and present got along, what in heck would we have to talk about ?

It is what fuels all the fires on this board.

From what I understand it's still in the works, but my information is, admittedly, second-hand. I'd like to see what it says as well, although I imagine there won't be any details of the lawsuit. It's just that, I wasn't a big fan until the 80's, was never a member of any fan club, and couldn't afford the magazines that covered them. I'd like to know more about their rise to fame.

Hopefully we'll hear something about it being published soon. BTW, the author's name is Sterling Whitaker.

Back when the Arch Allies tour was going on they were selling a retro type 3/4 baseball sleeve with the Wizzard from Man of Miracles cover on the front and their Main Event photo on the back of the T shirt. The photo had Tommy, JY,Chuck and John( huge afro). Dennis was left off the T shirt completely.

This lady in front of me was talking and she sounded like she was related to JY or was a really good friend of his. She said Dennis's picture was left off so he couldnt reap anything off the shirt. I was listening to her conversations and at that time Dennis DID get money off the actual tour and any merchandise sold that he could lay claim to his influence of them making money off of him whatever that means?? I found this kind of funny because the front of the T-shirt had the Wizzard on it which was when Dennis was leading the group.
