SNL took another shot at Dennis tonight in a middle eastern restaurant skit. It didn't even fit in.

THey should be ashamed of themselves.

Well, first of all, Horatio Sanz played him, not exactly in the neighborhood of looking like Dennis. Couldn't figure that one out.

They made some sort of reference to "Dennis" being "ill" and Horatio then got into a laughing fit and couldn't really finish his lines. He did a play on Lady with "Tom Bradeee".

The whole skitt was pretty lame and I hope Mr. Superbowl, Tom Brady, can live it down.

One thing I will say about those kinds of things is, Dennis is always referenced, and his name is mentioned over and over. I think they said the name "Styx" only once. It is interesting to me that Dennis does have recognition outside of Styx. Good, bad, or indifferent, it is there.

This is the second time SNL has singled him out.

Nobody has a bigger sense of humor than Dennis does. I'm sure he's quite capable of laughing at himself. If I had a 2 time superbowl MVP laughing and making jokes or even MENTIONING my name.... I'd be pretty blown away.

You know, Ash, this is true, and he could very well have seen this episode since he has talked about watching Saturday Night Live in several interviews.

Also, he is in good company, being spoofed on SNL, twice. Only the biggest celebrities are reserved that honor.

Thank you, Ash. That's what I was going to say. It's not a tragedy when people spoof on you, but when people STOP spoofing on you. BTW, LOVE "Buddy Jesus." lol

I'm stealing this quote (sorry):

"When your skitted on SNL it means you have made it....good or bad."

I have a feeling that he saw the episode last night, if not, I'm sure he'll be seeing a copy this week.

You all pretty summed it up :)

Well, I just happened to catch the skit. IMO it was an awful skit all the way around. Horatio whoever did nothing at all to look like DeYoung. I thought the references to his "mysterious illness" to be in very bad taste. The whole thing left us (my family) looking at each other saying "THAT was supposed to be funny???" Half the family aren't even DeYoung fans.

I guess the whole "any publicity is good publicity" is somewhat true, at least to a point. But, this....well if it had been about me, I would not have been amused.

I quit understanding the humor on SNL about 20 years ago. (Which might mean I've simply lost my sense of humor). It is one of the most tedious shows for me to sit and watch, even if there's a skit I might be interested in catching.

SNL has always been a hit and MOSTLY miss show. I watched it off and on for its entire history, including now. I have found it might have one sketch out of an hour and a half's programming that is funny.

I do not think that has been an exception even in what are considered its "glory days".

A VCR has always come in handy for me in watching this program and I have honestly, in recent years, fast forwarded through the entire show, not finding one single thing that was worth watching at all.

It has always been the stopping place, though, for the terrific, the popular, the mundane and the "why is this person a celebrity?" types. It also has showcased many a great, and not-so-great, musical performers or groups.

To me, though, it has always been a show that just when you count it down and out, something interesting happens on there and, sometimes, something even funny.

The Tom Brady sketch that involved "Dennis" was NOT one of them.
