Ticket Prices for Concerts

How much are you willing to spend for a concert?

I'll pay up to $150 for Dennis and $0.00 for Carrot Styx (LOL). I guess it depends on the other bands and the venues. I wanted to see Maroon 5 this week, but I wasn't going to pay $49 in a bar type setting and standing all night for them.

One of my friends want me to go with her to the Paul McCartney concert in Milwaukee.( LOL, of all the concerts coming to Milwaukee.) Ticket prices are $125-$250, without the ticket charges. Is seeing Paul McCartney worth that amount? Has anyone seen him? I like his music with Wings, does he play a lot of Beatles music (ACK). Just thought I'd ask on here first before I check any Paul boards :)

Suite,

Sir Paul puts on a good show......I've seen him twice, at Rosemont Horizon
( I think now called Allstate Arena ) and at County Stadium ( now called the parking lot at Miller Park ! )

Knowing your dislike of Beatles music, I'd suggest you pass on this show, as about 1/2 the show is from their catalog. I'd go again, but the tickets would have to be 1/2 the cost of what they are selling for.

I like "Live and Let Die", that was by him first right?

I just checked the Beatles song lists and a few clips. The only one that I like is "Hello Goodbye".

If for some reason I get a free ticket, than I'll go.

Thanks :)

I'd never pay $150 for a ticket to anything. Unless the ticket came with a date, a hotel room, and adequate alcohol and birth control. There just isn't anyone putting on a show worth paying THAT MUCH money for.

I had a great (free) place to stay and front door venue delivery (also free) for Simon and Garfunkel last year in Houston. However, I had to fork over the $250 for a ticket. I just could not justify it.

To me a concert is more than an event it an experince to be replayed in conversation with those you go with or in your head when you old and lonely. I am spending about $55.00 ea for 2 12 row seats with Styx (an evening with) with 13 year old daughter. Would pay $125.00 for 4th row and better for Styx. Any other band the problem would be who to go with . My wife is not into concerts (she dated an Areosmith player years ago - not saying who) and most friends just are not willing to spend the money.

I'd probably pay up to $50 if it's an artist I'm interested enough in. I might even go as high as $70 if it was a concert I really, really wanted to see (ie. Van Halen last summer). Even if the classic lineup of Styx reunited somehow, I'd have a tough time paying much more than $70.

I'm debating whether to see him when he comes to Florida this year. I saw him once in 1990, and it was spectacular, but DAMN - tickets START at $60 for the nosebleed seats. That's a tall order for a girl on a budget.

But yeah - I guess I should go...I only worship the guy. :-/

Well I paid $110 to see Denny. But that came with dinner, champaign and a seat in the 3rd row.

Been there done that. Won't do it again.

I think the most I have paid to see STYX was about $50. I like the fairs and festivals where you can get right up to the stage for about $8.

The most I have paid for a concert ticket was $400. But that is for Rockfest in Cadott, WI this summer - a 4 day festival with

GB Leighton
April Wine
Everclear
Collective Soul
Franky Perez
Firehouse
Ratt
UFO
Cinderella
Megadeth
Wishbone Ash
Quiet Riot
The Bodeans
The Black Crowes
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Gypsy
Head East
Great White
Jackyl
Cheap Trick
ZZ Top

Plus 4 beer tents with regional bands playing between acts on the main stage.

The ticket price also includes a reserved seat in the 12th row, 2 meals a day and all the beer you can drink. :D

I paid $1000 to see Kiss from the 1st or 2nd row, go to a meet n' greet and get my picture taken with them. I actually did this twice on two different tours.

It was a blast.

Well, I've paid anywhere from $10 to $75 (before ticketmonster charges) for concerts in the last 3 or 4 years. Any more than that & I'd have to very seriously consider whether it's worth it or not. (I'm guessing NOT). Me pay $150 for ONE ticket to a show, probably never happen. And IML you must be independently wealthy to pay $1k for a show not once but twice?!!! For that kind of money, I'd take my hubby on a romantic getaway instead!

Head East is still around.Whooo That blows me away. I loved their album 'Flat As A Pancake'. Do you know if the orginal members are still in the group?? Also, I have ALWAYS wanted to see April Wine. 'If You See Kay' another 'classic' song. Where's Limited Warranty????? They were another group like Head East that I really liked but never really made it.

Damn Kansas66666 that sounds like one hell of a GREAT concert!!!
