I'm behind in posts. I don't know if this was posted before. This is the tracklisting for the new Shaw/Blades CD called Influence. This is from Styxcollector site, which received from the Shaw/Blades message boards. There was a clip on the Jack Blades site, I'm not sure if it's still up there.

1. TIME OF THE SEASON - The Zombies
2. I AM A ROCK - Simon & Garfunkel
3. YOUR MOVE - Yes
4. FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH - Buffalo Springfield
5. LUCKY MAN - Emerson, Lake, and Palmer
6. DIRTY WORK - Steely Dan
7. CAROUSEL - The Hollies
8. SOUNDS OF SILENCE - Simon & Garfunkel
9. CALIFORNIA DREAMIN - The Mommas and The Papas
10. SUMMER BREEZE - Seals and Crofts
11. DANCE WITH ME - Orleans
12. NO MATTER WHAT - Badfinger
13. MAKE IT WITH YOU - Bread

Except for the Simon and Garfunkle, I like this track listing better than Big Bang Theory.

Interesting that they are covering Badfinger's No Matter What, since Def Leppard is also covering that song.

Did anyone hear Tommy's cover of Kiss' "Love Gun" on the SPIN THE BOTTLE Kiss tribute album?

I haven't heard it yet...

You know, I like the song choices for this CD. Some really "lite rock" stuff, but I would think they will sound very cool on the harmonies.

Some of those songs are personal favorites, probably would be considered guilty pleasures, but I like them all the same.

I wonder how they will handle "Lucky Man," though. The essence of that song is the huge synth part that roars in towards the end and knocks you back on your heels.

I definitely would like to hear this entire CD if for no other reason than no JY and Gowan to mess up the vocals. Two very pure voices here.

Interesting list. I think I'll have to give it a listen as well. Any word when it's going to be released?

I like Jack Blades (he is VERY nice), I like Tommy Shaw's music, I like Blades/Shaw together, I like Damn Yankees. I like these song choices better than the ones that Carrot Styx are covering (IMO).

LOL, I agree.

I don't mind JY's voice... it's not a "great" voice per say but it is unique and it's his style... I always thought it was a good change of pace from the polished voice's of Tommy and Dennis.

I think JY's voice really changed, not for the good, over the years. To mehe sounds very angry in his singing. I still enjoy listening to the studio version of "You Need Love".

I always enjoyed Dennis' and Tommy's harmonies together. I really miss that. But I have to add, that with Hank Horton in Dennis' band, their harmonies really blend well, again, just my opinion. I thought "Best Thing" was completely awesome live in Chicago, just awesome :)

I like the Big Bang song list much better. The only songs from the Shaw Blades CD to fit onto Big Bang would be Your Move and Luck Man. Looks like I will pass on the Shaw Blades CD. It's a liitle too soft for my taste.

It's very good. You can get it at Itnes for .99 Shaw Blades also did an awesome cover of Aerosmith's Sweet Emotion. Give that a listen too. I ROCKS-ERIC

Maybe it's just me, but I think the songs chosen for ShawBlades are better suited for their voices than the songs chosen for BBT. I will almost certainly pick up Influence, but more than likely will not get BBT. I already got 'Walrus' off Itunes and that sounds like the best track off BBT IMO. If anyone gets both, let me know how they compare.
