Just Get Through This Night -- Great song! ("I just couldn't think of songs about robots.....")
Love in the Midnight -- Love the changes from minor to major keys in it.
Foolin' Yourself -- Some of his best lyrics
Haven't We Been Here Before -- Not just crazy about this song, but oh those beautiful harmonies with Dennis!
I Will Be Your Witness -- That album had some good songs on it.
Co-writes:
Lights -- Great tune (oops, Dennis wrote the melody!) Good lyrics by Tommy here, too.
Madamoiselle -- Nice, easy going, fun song with great harmony

You know, we all answered this question incorrectly, other than Froy. It was best Tommy Shaw SONG (singular).
Oh well...I enjoyed reading what everyone listed.
I did notice that BCM only made two of the lists. And no Renegade, so far. Interesting....

Oh, how I miss these songs live, with the harmonies of yesteryears (sigh)
Anyhoo, here is my list:
Crystal Ball
Mademoiselle (yes, I know co-written along with Dennis)
Superstars (love it - yes again I know, co-written by Tommy, Dennis and Young)
Never Say Never
Lights (yes, wow, another one that I love, and it's even co-written with Dennis)
Boat on a River
Sing For The Day
Didn't care for his solo work, no offense

Together: I love the urgency in this song. It feels like it wants to take off. But they keep it in check.
Yes I Can: Beautiful harmonies with Glen. They really lost an assett when Glen left.
The sad thing is, neither of these songs were performed live. I think they might have added Yes I Can at a couple of shows just before Glen departed.

Then playing devil's advocate here, no one should have any problems with Styx performing songs Dennis wrote or co-wrote when he was with Styx, since those are Styx songs, right?

Not I! LOL
Styx is Styx. Dennis is Dennis. I almost answered my favorite solo song, but I didn't think it mattered in this thread.

Nahhh. We are always breaking our own rules, here!
I enjoyed reading the lists everyone made myself. What fun would only one song have been?? Sorry, IML.

Styx - Man in the Wilderness
Solo - Diamond (great 50's guitar vibe)
For Others - Shut up and Dance (sex is like a gun - you aim - you shoot - you run)

Here, here Sadie! If it's OK to say
DeYoung is performing
HIS songs, and by that
include the music he wrote/performed as part of Styx, then we have to allow
Shaw credit for
HIS music,
with or without Styx.

Wrong Dennis is alive and willing to sing them in STYX they don't want him in the band then they don't get his songs as well.

I have no problem with Styx performing songs Dennis wrote, nor do I have a problem with Dennis performing any song from the Styx catalog, whether he wrote it or not.
OSL and Kansas: I agree and echo your sentiments about the Cyclo tracks.
