Very nice. Simple, and to the point and touching. Maybe we've been praising the wrong DeYoung all these years.

Nice letter. It fits in with what Tommy said about Dennis not being able to enjoy what was happening at the time with the band.

Very nice. It's great to see true love prevail over the rock n' roll lifestyle for once.

wow, everyone should have a spouse with that kind of devotion.....
I guess we all should be thankful for both of the DeYoungs, and for what they have....

I still think she shouldn't be up on stage with him trying to sing and dance.

Ooooh, you told him! Kinda like how everyone in the current line-up feels about your opinions!

And I couldn't care less.
This irrelevAnt line-up will soon be forgotten once they're done wringing every last ounce of respectability from the Styx name.

TIRED, REHASHED AND REDUNDANT ARGUMENT ALARM!
"This irrelevAnt line-up will soon be forgotten once they're done wringing every last ounce of respectability from the Styx name."
How many years can it take for someone to tire of yelling "It's about to come to an end!" Apparently 6 years aren't enough.
Anyone here remember when the big lawsuit was gonna set the record straight? Talk about respectability, principle, all that yada yada yada...DeYoung dropped that suit like a hot potato and the rest of us just went right on arguing over and over...

Okay, take a deep breath and consider this. How much time, money, stress and aggravation do you think it takes to hire an attorney and go after someone with a lawsuit? Any lawyer will tell you it had better be worth your while.
So Dennis started spending on lawyers. Why? To win. But something happened: HE SETTLED. Why? Either 1) he thought they had a stronger case (i.e. He's LOSE) or 2) he thought a compromise would turn out better. Or both.
I understand your opinion and I suppose it's not impossible that he could've won. But he settled. My comment was regarding all the adamant predictions made by DeYoungians back then as to things about to be turned around on Styx 5.0 "for good" and "justice" prevailing bla bla bla. My point is that ItsMyLife's prediction that Shaw & Co are ABOUT TO blow it is tired and 6 years old

How did this segue from the nice note Dennis wrote about Suzanne to the lawsuit and ALL THAT WATER UNDER THE BRIDGE again???
(Sorry about the all caps, Ash)

A settlement was reached... but the terms could be anything... it could be Dennis decided he'd rather make money off this line-up rather then kill it completely or he'd rather like permission to use the Styx name in his solo bill... etc.. etc.. etc. He could have given THEM the option of settling if they decided to come to HIS terms.
It's always better to settle this sort of lawsuit if you can rather than leave it in the hands of judges and jury's.
I ask you this... if the terms were so favorable to Tommy and JY (as you surmise) why did Tommy say it's so hard to get over the lawsuit itself?
So your presumptions are not necessarily accurate.
On a side note, since Tommy sold his portion of Styx in the early 90s... when did he get it back?

"How did this segue from the nice note Dennis wrote about Suzanne to the lawsuit and ALL THAT WATER UNDER THE BRIDGE again???"
To be fair, kansas666 commented feeling that Mrs DeYoung shouldn't be up on stage trying to sing and dance. So that was less than sweet.
Then enter the happy-go-lucky ItsMyLife with the vitriol about "irrelevant line-up" being "soon forgotten" and "respectability"...Which reminded me of the by now very old 'it's all about to end' and 'Matter Of Principle' arguments. So I was a bad boy and brought up remembering how the lawsuit was supposed to make DeYoung the obvious 'victor' or something.
As much as I'd like to entirely blame the ever happy-go-lucky ItsMyLife, I suppose kansas666 & I had a hand in flushing this topic down the pooper.

And so, stepping around the old, tired, lament here, how about the time trip back to the 60's in the photo of them? I love looking at old photos...my my the hair, the clothes. Such a trip to a bygone era.

And since Dennis and I are high school contemporaries, separated by one year, OMG did those clothes and hairstyles in that picture look FAMILIAR!!
I would love for them to post some vintage photos in that section of their website. Might be sort of fun.

I swear ONLY you 'DEYOUNG SENSITIVE' fanatics could take something soooo very positive and informative about Dennis's early years with Styx and his family and put it in the gutter.
It was such a GREAT and revealing post by Dennis, and somehow you slanted it for 'your' crazy ass cause or 100% IDIOTIC COMPLETE FANATICAL OBSESSION.
You 'DEYOUNG SENSITIVE'" WACOS" TRULY seem like the types that would blow up an abortio clini.., or murde a doct ...... for your freakish cause. WHOOOO I better not go there.
Go play something backwards, burn some books and then go and find another cause!!!!

Hey Yogi, can't you read?
Even Adam pointed out how it was Kansas666 that had to take the first pot shot.

Mom,
I swear,he started it!!!!! Your fanatical dribble is getting old!!!
As fans we get double the 'Styx' shows, more new material, and since the players themselves seem happy how can you piss and moan about something you know soooooo very little about. Keep bitching Wack Job, the clock is ticking on all of their performing careers.
Its HIGH TIME for you to go start a revolution lets say.... say over in Africa somewhere!
It's Slippery When Wet, and 'your' falling all over the damn place!!!
