This is not the place for a debate over the line-up – everyone loves Dennis DeYoung, but this is the band as it is now and some would do well to accept that and get on with life.

Why Andrew. You must have been reading this board. :P

Don't put too much stock in this review, after all the guy says he's a big solo Gowan fan...

I haven't heard anything funnier all day!

The funny thing to me is how ridiculous you sound. You must be related to DDY. How much is he paying you? I hope other people who read this board don’t think all DDY fans are like you. Your really making them look bad.

Cheap shot at DeYoung. Foul. And if people ACTUALLY reading this board notice, most fans of DeYoung AND the band are pretty decent. Now can we all just ignore what we know to be posts that are designed to flame and prickle the skin? Sheesh

Once again, painting everyone with the same brush is just downright small minded, Chicago. Please! I echo Sadie here. This person, IML, does not speak for me nor I for him. And he most CERTAINLY does not speak for Dennis DeYoung. Mr. DeYoung has WAY too much class for this.

As Sadie said, there are good people who speak for "both sides". That is how I like to look at it.

I honestly don't think he meant to slam DDY and all DDY fans.... but this new infection on our board is doing a lot to cause strife and pit people against eachother.

I plan to go out tonight and buy two copies of BBT. One for me... and one for ItsMyLife...

It would also be SO nice if for once, some of the avid DeYoung fans WOULD speak up against this disease instead of jumping on someone who does. I'm sure it's fairly obvious that the enemy here is NOT ChicagoStyx. So why does his (tame) remark get pounced on, while dozens and dozens of diarrhetic drivel spews get virtually looked past? It won't be long before he's driven everyone off because those who dare speak up are getting backlash from those who are supposed to be on their side.

If you want to ignore the demon spawn, feel free, but if you're not going to defend EVERYONE FAIRLY, then maybe it would be better if you stayed out of it entirely.

I'm doing my best without getting down in the muck with them... I failed earlier so I had to delete a few of my posts because it's not like me to go there.

I consider myself a pretty fair and honest broker in things. However, as was the case with Tony Carey's forum that I used to run, this "person" will eventually run people off.

Which is what I suspect "it" wants.

Excuse me. But it was Chicago who said those who like Dennis are being categorized as thinking like IML.

I, at first, posted a few items agreeing with IML, before I knew what a troll he truly was.

I now choose to ignore what he says, if at all possible. And when he makes totally outrageous comments, what is the POINT of answering? He just comes back with more, in true troll fashion. This is how these people operate.

Please note that I asked for his entire "Gowan fan" thread be pulled down. If that isn't trying to get this place balanced in your view, I am truly sorry.

I agree with what Ash said about the situation.

I deleted a couple of my posts too, I don't want to keep going on and on and rehashing everything. Sorry.........

Let's move on and talk about the upcoming concert dates, no matter where each are playing. Let's talk about the concerts, reviews and any new material. I enjoy going back in time and talking about the songs that I enjoy from my favorite band. We used to have a fun time on here, I hope we can get back to that :)

Thanks, Chicago, and let me apologize for my comment above. I really do not like it when we are all sort of thrown into a category we KNOW we are not a part of.

I find we have a great diversity of opinion here and I truly enjoy it. And I like it when we can all argue REASONABLY.

Lately, the IML Troll has made that very difficult indeed.

You know, this original thread was about Andrew's BBT review.

It is a good, well-rounded review. There are some songs on this CD I really would like to hear. Do I want to buy it? Probably not. But ya never know!

It sounds like it has some really good music on it, though, and I appreciate Andrew's take on it.

Those of you who buy it and like it, be sure to post your reviews on Amazon.com. I know for a fact a lot of people buy things based on the reviews given a particular product over there.

I will only comment that Chicago's comments were rather inflammatory and lumped people together. I understand now that wasn't his intent. As for making comments to trolls of this nature, I have called this person on the carpet for some of their posts, however I have also learned that with some trolls, any acknowledgment of what they post only feeds the beast. If I challenge anyone here, it is because I honestly believe that we can have a civil discussion. If I don't feed the troll, perhaps it's because I see no point in continuing to beat my head into a wall. Hopefully you can see some merit to that point of view.

I agree that lately things here have totally disintegrated. I think Andrew's review is honest and a good assessment of the cd. And I think the cd should be reviewed on it's own merit, not used to continue to beat the completely dead topic of whether or not DeYoung should be in the band etcetera etcetera.

I'm not addressing anyone in particular, Ash. In fact, I usually really enjoy your posts...What I meant was that if someone is blatently offensive, they're the ones who should be called out, not the ones who are standing up to it. Or if you do, at least be fair about it. I think it's a fair assessment that most all of us here know who is who and what they stand for. There's no need to keep explaining that not all DeYoung fans are the same and visa-versa. However, if you don't believe that people like ItsMyLife have tainted the way other people see DDY on some level, I'm here to tell you that they have. So rather than continuously defending Dennis or his fans, it might be more productive to stand against those people, not the ones stating the reality. Or just ignore all of it. In-fighting makes it even worse.

Thank you. I'll take that as a compliment, and I feel very much the same way about it most of the time. Hence, why I attempted to point out the lack of fairness that I observed happening. I have yet to see trolls disappear on their own. They either have to get bored, in which case, they come back when they're rejuvenated, or be thrown out.

They get bored by being ignored. A point several of us have been trying to make to, apparently, no avail in some cases.

Let me know when that happens. I think unfairness happens here on all levels, sometimes by "DeYoungians", sometimes by "bathwater drinkers". That being said, I don't think challenging someone whose proven track record is to harang (whomever it might be) is productive. I think challenging someone who makes a comment in a moment of frustration, or not thinking things through is much more worthy of my time.
