Since the other thread got locked... I apologize.

I admit I've crossed the line a few times... and for that I apologize.

Zan: I'm sorry for getting personal... that was wrong. I won't do that again to you or anyone else.

Sometimes I was being facetious while sometimes I was deliberately trying to yank chain when I felt that I was being unfairly targeted.
Sometimes I was killing time at work and got caught up in the moment.

I will try to keep it civil from this point forward... and will try to refrain from criticizing the current line-up soley for the sake of criticizing. I can't promise I won't be critical though but I'll keep it legit the best I can.

However, I will say this... some people seem to feel that complimenting Dennis is an insult to the current line-up... and I feel that's partially how we got to this point... that's not always the case so please don't always view it that way.

Styx to me is Dennis, Tommy, JY, Chuck and John... that's the band I grew up with and that's the music I love.

I respect that and your explaination. I am only a casual poster here (well maybe not I am as classic pointed out in the top 100 posters) but for the Styx board I am not as dedicated as most, however I give you my apologi
ze for the profanity I called you and really do feel better about mending fences vs closing doors. - Welcome friend!

I don't see that happening at all...where is an example of somebody being offended when a compliment is given to Dennis?

What I see happening is that you had an 'anything goes' attitude, almost like you are used to posting to Usenet or something. So, you take things to the extremes. Well, that works in Usenet, but it doesn't work in a web forum where there is a moderator.

It's also been my experience from dealing with Journey and Styx forums for almost fifteen years, that when a person blows up the way you have they end up repeating it at some point. We'll see how long you last before you do it again.

I am happy to see this post from you, IML. I hope we can continue in a vein of fun discussion and, please, some occasional humor!

Hopefully things will be at least civil, even when we don't agree. It'll be nice reading a thread without all the flames.

Thank you IML for the apology. Now let's get back to the music!

I apologise for the under hand comments I made and will be willing to concentrate on the music instead of personal attacks.

Zan: Y'all do realize you're responding to a month-old thread?
Adam: oops. No, I didn't. Still, I suppose forgiveness has not time limitations.

And since I hadn't actually seen the specific offense, it's very easy to expect SOMETHING happening recently, based on the nature of the posts and the online persona of the apologist.

All I've done is respond to others when antagonized, and will continue to do so.

I remember right after I made this post I had Yogi and Adam antagonizing me almost immediately... referring to me with all kinds of obscure Bon Jovi references, etc.

It works both ways people.

I understand what you're saying....I mentioned that in the other thread about preferences and leaving it at that....Plus they should leave your name alone unless they are speaking directly to you....

Oh, please. That is almost as bad as saying somebody made you post this and that, because they said this and that.

Nobody controls you. You are responsible for what you say, NOBODY else is. Putting that responsibility onto somebody else because they "provoked" you is simply childish.

If you don't have the maturity to control your own actions, ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY for them, NOT make excuses for them, not allowing your REACTIONS to rule what you say here, then perhaps you shouldn't even be posting to web forums...since this is SUPPOSED to be about DISCUSSION - not who can dish out the best insults.

Again, that is what Usenet is for. What's wrong, is the Styx newsgroup too non-existant for you?

You're bringing up stuff that happened before I apologized in this thread.

You were quick to respond in this thread that you didn't think the apology really mattered, anyhow.

And now here you are piling on again. So go figure.

The reason I apologized is because I made a few comments about some things that were a bit too personal, I stand by every criticism I've made of the current atrocity touring as Styx.

And soon after I had posts directed at me with calling me obscure Bon Jovi references... not one post, not two posts... many... and then anytime I criticize the band the same few come out and have to talk about things completely unrelated... Kiss, Village People, Bon Jovi... etc... etc..

So stick that in your pipe and smoke it, Monker.
