It has been a long time since I have pulled out my original Wooden Nickel vinyl. But as I recall wasn't the song "Best Thing" included on 2 of those albums?
I just took a look at the remasters on Amazon and Best Thing is only included on their first album.
Correct me if I am wrong. But I am pretty sure it was also on Man of Miracles. Why would they do that?

Dave,
Best Thing was released as a single at one point....I don't know if it was
during the release of Styx 1 or M.O.M. my guess is they included it on M.O.M. in order to release it as a single...........
I also don't know the chronology regarding when it was replaced with
"Lies" and/or "Unfinished Song", but all 3 have been on various releases of Man Of Miracles and the RCA re-release called Miracles.
Any history buffs out there who can straighten this out ?

I could be wrong, so if I am, please don't hesitate to step in.
"Best Thing" was the group's first single, and it charted somewhere in the bottom of the hot 100; then, "Styx II" and "Serpent" were issued, and all of the singles from those albums failed to chart; when "Miracles" was issued, the album featured "Lies", which was the single, but it bombed, and the group quickly tacked "Best Thing" on the album in it's place; most likely because that song was the closest thing the group had had to a hit at that point. Little did they know that very shortly, a certain song from "Styx II" would gain belated success, and introduce them to their first run with the top 10.
