why when it's been discussed about a billion times before.

Please don't start a new topic unless you have something to say...

If you have any questions - here is a good guide to follow:

Because 4 of the members of Styx who I saw on stage Saturday morning have played them on tour with Dennis when he was in Styx. They are Styx songs not Dennis DeYoung songs. That would be like asking why does Journey play any songs Steve Perry sang in the band! Why is a Ford still called a Ford? Henry is long gone! Why did Styx play Tommy's songs in 1990? Because they are Styx songs.

I can post what I want. You're not God.

Plus, it's better than gushing over the chart positions of BBT.

Of course he's not. I am...now bow down and worship me or I'll change Dennis hair color to a nice shade of blue.

Why is a Ford still called a Ford?

This was explained as a footnote to one of the radio series.

Ford changed his name to fit in on Earth. Most Americans probably don't understand that Ford Prefect would be like someone changing their name to Ford Escort, but that's another issue. Anyway, since Ford CHANGED HIS NAME from his Beetleguise name, why did Zaphod call him Ford when they picked him up on the Heart of Gold...he could not have known he changed his name since they had not spoken since before Ford spent time on Earth. Well, 'changing your name' in HHG means revisiting space-time and erasing all references to the old name and replacing it with the new name. The affect is that Ford has only been known as Ford because the old name was replaced and forgotten, and replaced with the new.

Hope that explains things a bit.

Actually Monker... I think a better explanation goes to Ford and Zaphod drinking too many Pan Galactic Gargle Blasters... I mean.. have you LOOKED AT TRILLIAN?

Yo Bad Medicine Ive got a better question but I dont want to start a new assembly line for it. My question to you is Do you really like the song High Time?

I realize the song DID fit Dennis's Kilroy concept, but I thought the song was putrid. It also capt off the worst side of a Styx album that I could remember. That includes the Wooden Nickle stuff. When I first purchased Kilroy Was Here and heard that trash I thought Devo had wormed their way into the Styx recording studio.

You actually like that song?????????????????????

I'd like to go back and answer the original question.....and the answer is:

Because they're ( the DDY songs ) SO DAMN GOOD !

and because, many of the fans go EXPECTING to hear them.

Next question ?

Up until The Paradise Theatre album I think I REALLY liked EVERY A&M Styx song that Dennis sung lead on. I did not like Nothing Ever Goes As Planned or Lonely People.

Still I liked those two MUCH better that High Time.

As for saying it is better than Cold War, thats like saying Hip Hop is better than Manic Depression, or Great Expectations is better than Best New Face. I cant argue you on which song is better.

Its kind of like asking me would you rather eat a Whopper or a Quarter Pounder if both were dropped in shi t???

When I'm baited with insulting questions that refer to me by insulting nicknames...

What did Yogi say to you that called you an insulting nickname? All he did was ask if you "really" liked a song that he hates. Thats what he said. If you choose to take it differently, then it shows more about you than it does about anyone.

So then you reply by calling people names and doing the same thing you are griping about. Congratulations... you are what you hate. Happy now?

Please, continue to grace us with your bloviated discourses filled with mental jewelry.

Everytime Yogi posts he refers to me via a Bon Jovi reference.

Since we've covered my name countless times it can only be assumed that he does this in a condescending manner meant to antagonize.

Of course, you NEVER notice those things... only my responses.

What name did I call him?

He asked a silly question and I answered similarly silly.

I could have said "does a bear shit in the woods"... but I asked if he likes men....

I thought they both accomplished the same thing.

By the way... "High Time" is a great song.

"I flip on my laser video... and there's the man staring back at me."

That's what I always thought but then I saw the lyrics in an online database recently when I was looking at other Styx lyrics and they had it that way... oh well.

Edit: Actually I reread what I typed and I messed it up more than I thought... the thing I was questioning from the internet database was "a man" vs. "the man".

I am a big fan of that song, too, Darren. Great imagery and I love the instrumental break in it.

Your top 10 is a good one. I agree with you on all of them.

My least favorite DDY song ever is "First Time." The others on your bottom 10 I like ok for the most part, although I am really tired of "Babe."
