Note From Tommy

Since ChicagoStyx mentioned Tommy's new note, here it is. Froy, you will have a field day with the last paragraph.

Hello Friends,

What a week it's been in STYXworld. Big Bang Theory hit the streets last Tuesday and we have been getting great reports from Universal on how well it's being received and that you guys are going out and getting your own copies. For us, this is the ultimate compliment.

We made our way to NYC to appear first at the Mets game Thursday evening where we sang "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" during the 7th inning stretch, then showed up at NBC before sunrise to prepare for our three songs we were to perform live outside their studios. Their crew is top notch and always works well with ours. We got in a rehearsal of "Too Much Time" which from what I hear, actually went live in several cities including Montreal and Los Angeles. That is why some of you heard and saw us play it twice. Then it was "I Am The Walrus" and last but not least "Renegade." It went by like a flash, but we had a great time as always and the fans were awesome. From there I had to get in a car immediately to make my way back to JFK and fly back to Los Angeles to a wedding in Malibu. My mother-in-law Iris wed her fiance' Dale Ranney in a lovely outdoor ceremony surrounded by friends and family. The day ended with my wife Jeanne, her brothers Don and Rick and honorary brother Ken sitting outside around the pool at our house replaying the events of the day and having some good laughs at each other's expense. Just before hitting the hay I watched the performance on tiVo just to see if "Walrus" sounded as good as it felt like it did. Was Lawrence Gowan on fire or WHAT? WOW! It was fun.

We can't tell you how happy we are to finally have Big Bang Theory in the stores. We'll be adding songs to our set as we start hitting the road again so if we have these big goofy looks on our faces it is just the joy of having the excuse to play these songs again.

See you in Myrtle Beach in a few daze.

T Shaw

Yep he burned all of the STYX fans
Just like you have .

Fine we don't want to hear it anyway,

.

And if you see big goofy looks on our faces it's the pain of hearing Larry Gowan ruin Dennis DeYoung songs .

See you in Myrtle Beach in a few daze.

No you won't

Exactly...the ultimate compliment any artist can receive is to know that fans appreciate their work.

Those with small minds who post their misspelled small words about something the do not appreciate or understand are insgnificant and their resistance is futile anyway. I'm glad that Tommy (and most likely the rest of Styx) understands that there is a collective of Styx fans out there who DOES appreciate the time and effort they are putting into this band. There is no need to assimilate such angry and/or hate filled fans. Their emotional and musical distictiveness would probably be more of a liability then an asset anyways.

Its not their work Monk its other people's work
And you should know by now Shaw is full of hype.

And those who come to this board one day say they hate a cover cd and the next day change there mind are misguided poor blind fools.

17 year old high school girls know just about as much about STYX as my
cat Morris.

Many? I only see two of you.

sorry to inform you but I doubt that a fifty year old man would want to "fight" a couple former fans who write and act like pre-teens. If the band does read any of your 'stuff', they probably laugh it off and think some kid got hold of their mommy's computer.

I am very happy Styx is still out there playing concerts and making records. I think it’s great that they are having good success with the new CD. They work hard and they deserve it. Being back with a major label has proven to be just what they needed to get the new music on the radio. This should also keep Styx alive and well for years to come. This band really seems to be hitting it’s stride!!!

Rock on STYX!!
:D :D :D :D

And which track on Big Bang Theory was originally done by DDY? I can't seem to find it on my copy.

Hmm . . . maybe you should read the above again, froy. It's quite clear to me Tommy's referring to the Big "Bong" songs!
