Digital radio station ARFM will be having Styx in the studio on June 5th for a chat and a phone in.........(See MR news page)
The station is available on the sky network in the UK.
Ime thinking of my question and it will probably be something like...hey guys why a 24 year wait to tour the UK, is it because you dont have any constraints as to where you play now ?

Why don't you let them answer the question instead of injecting your own preconceptions on it? Isn't that what responsible journalists do? Bias sucks.

I think you would be better served asking a question you don't know the answer to. You've said all along that the reason was Dennis. JY has said the same thing recently about returning to Europe. Of course, it's easy to make the statement. What's not easy is explaining it. That being said...seriously, sounds like a nice thing for you fans over there. Enjoy.

Peace

THAT makes too much sense. Seems like everyone wants to ask the question that will get them to stick a few more knives into Dennis.

Whatever.

Darren, why not rise above that and do what Sadie says? Ask a question that will involve THEM and THEIR future and leave the past out of it.

JMO here.

You know, that was NOT my intent. Name calling is not necessary. Darren is a good guy, and I do not want to be thought of as agreeing with that sentiment expressed by IML.

I think a positive, GOOD, question about what is going on now, and, as Sadie said, one to which you do not know the answer, is by far the best tactic to take.

Totally my opinion here. Good luck, Darren, and enjoy the interview. If you can post the transcript here, that would be cool, too.

Well it was my intent because this clown can't post without insulting Dennis in some manner.

Even when he has something legit to talk about he has to insult Dennis.

part of the answer would be that they really weren't a band from 83-96 except for the EOC album.

Concentrate on the now and the future and you'll get past the screener.

Darren just ask 1 Question and that is Where is Dennis
Plain and simple get the answer
Say you were looking forward to hearing Madame Blue and Best of Times
Why is Dennis not in the band
See what they say.

Hey "Its My Sad Life" If you want to start a name calling war you have come to the right person and I dont slate Dennis everytime, I have always said that Dennis is the best singer the band has had and over the life span of Styx has wrote around 7 or 8 of the best 10 songs the band ever produced so to say that I post negative all the time about him is wrong, I agree that I have been critical of Dennis over recent years and thats because I was not fond of many of his songs since Kilroy and beyond with the exception of Roseland, Dont Let It End and Show Me The Way. Another thing I have always maintained is that I would love to see DDY back in Styx if there was a democracy and everyone could get along and also if the band could once again enhance each others music like they did on albums like PO* and GI, but that is not going to happen and I get defensive of current Styx being able to carry on doing what they are doing because there are people like you that would put them down for everything they do even if deep down they like it. I bet if you heard Tommy fart you would say that Dennis farts sound better. So in future if you want to call anyone an idiot "Its My Sad Life" then head for the nearest mirror and hum the tune to High Time while your doing it.

Darren Do You know who the UK support act is??

No idea, I have heard various reports from UK band Deadline (Hope not) to Billy Squire and Nelson from USA. I sent Tommy a Dare compilation hoping that may have swung it but I doubt it......I think its the promoter who decides the support act.....Ive tried for ages to try and find out but with the show being just 3 weeks away i cant see it being a well known act as we would of heard by now.......If i could choose the support it would be Night Ranger, Dare or Rick Emmett but thats me being in dreamland. I have no idea but as soon as i find out I will let you know if someone else does not find out first.

I thought I heard/read something about Nelson touring with Styx this summer but never really investigated it. Last year they toured as the opening act to Frampton and Styx doing this acoustic set. It was really much better than I thought it would be. Talk about harmonies.

If it is Nelson, you won't want to skip them, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

JRN Hires Half Nelson For Lifetime Radio Show
Jones Radio Networks adds musician Gunnar Nelson to its syndicated family-friendly morning show, Lifetime Radio, effective May 16. Nelson will team with Donna Britt, the program's host since its launch in April 2004. The show will maintain a topical nature and a focus on relationships and entertainment. Gunnar Nelson is best known for singing and playing guitar opposite twin brother Matthew in the early 1990s pop-metal band, Nelson. Debut single, "(I Can't Live Without Your) Love & Affection," was No. 1 on the Hot 100, landing the Nelson family in the Guiness Book of World Records as the only family in history with three generations of No. 1 hit-makers. He is based in Nashville.

You know, I've heard great things about Nelson from several different people and sources. I suppose I'm guilty of having filed them away in my memory as one-hit wonders, and I'm wondering if I shouldn't rethink that.
