Darren,
Glad you had a great time. The only way I know of Nottingham is because of an Asia album I have, "Live in Nottingham." Do they have an EPL team there? Nice to see that you got to hear One With Everyone. That was one I missed in Charlotte. They did play it over the speakers as the crowd dispersed (does that count?

). Have a blast with the next show.

ItsMyLife, you really need to accept the fact that DarrenUK really enjoyed the show. We know it irks you. We know it makes you bitter, so you get the urge to lash out, make an offensive comment.
But really, it's ridiculous to call someone ignorant because they've enjoyed something, or have a different opinion than yours.
I'm glad to hear Darren's having a good time. Too bad you're having an awful time because of it.

Its My Sad Life ....You were not there so dont comment on something you never seen, now go back to listening to your 10 on Broadway or whatever other slush you have on...........
One day you might post something constructive instead of cheap shots but we will all be playing hockey on the river Styx before that happens.......at least Froy has something constructive to say even if we dont agree, you just type drivel.
Its not Styx without Jonathan Chance

Good news Darren. Glad it was a great gig. I'll be there saturday and sunday. I'm 23 and have been a big styx fan for around 8 years now. Yes Dennis' songs were the first that got me into the group. But I think I'm an even bigger fan of the current lineup.
Hopefully I'll make some friends on here. I'm not worried about p***ing a few people off though. Who does 'ItsMyLife' think he is moaning on and on about Dennis. I love classic styx. But he is so blinkered. He puts at the bottom of his posts 'It aint Styx without dennis deyoung' well, was 'high crimes and misdemours' a styx song?

If that the direction for styx with him still in it I would have told him to p*** off too. I'll tell you what, Dennis is a talented guy with a great voice, but he was just taking them to broadway....

And before anyone whinges. I've got all dennis' solo releases aswell. BBT was good in parts. Roll on the next studio album. And 'ItsMyLife' if you cant be coinstructive when 'slagging off' styx as it is now, don't bother. Its yesterdays news mate
Few questions about the gig Darren:
How many were there roughly?
What was the stage set like?
How did the songs from BBT go down?

Welcome to the board Ross....
I cant tell you how many was there as I was at the front and was not paying attention.....i could not care less if there was 100 or 50,000 as long as it was a good show.....People were up on the balcony so it was not a bad turn out.....I know Sunday in Bristol is sold out....Manchester has 3 rows left out of 2850 seats ........the stage set was basic lighting rig and wall of speakers......you dont need a huge load of lasers etc to make it a great gig as it detracts from the music of a band unless its Pink Floyd......who excel at that.
Oh and one more thing.....Its My Strife is not a HE.............she is a woman who's time of the month normally lasts for 3 and a half weeks you will realise that as she posts in a foul mood most of the time.

I think Darrens got caught up with It's my Strife and forgot to tell you the support band. It's Double Cross and my mate who was at the gig last night assures me they're more suited to Styx than Hurricane Party would have been - you agree Darren?
Listen I mentioned DDY as a bit of a joke on Sunday and got a roasting, how does 'It's my Life' get away with winding ya all up.
Love the Broadway response Darren.....that's more like it!
I'm told DDY has a forum, so let's keep all things DDY there and not here as the new lineup is STYX without DDY - past history he is, as Yoda would say!

BEFORE THE LIGHTNING STRIKES:
This forum is for ALL Styx fans to discuss STYX. The reason you got roasted is because we try to maintain a civil atmosphere here, so anything that can be perceived as negative or slanderous against a member past or present is frowned upon (even if it's in light fun - lord knows, humor has taken the biggest beating of all around these parts). The reason ItsMyLife isn't roasted is because that has been proven to be a wasted effort. he pretty much goes ignored by most now, with the exception of a few, who still think he can be "reasoned" with.

I have nothing whatsoever about constructive critisism, if you have heard a CD and disliked it or seen a concert and not enjoyed it then thats fair enough but to critisise something you never witnessed is just plain ignorance........I am quite prepared to refrain from personal insults but will always bite back when provoked........and I have nothing bad to say about DDY prior to 1981 apart from First Time.....and maybe Babe.
But I would not come on here and slate a show by DDY if i had not been at the concert.......as i said it just shows how cheap and pathetic some people can be.
It aint Styx without Dr Rightious and greasy fried chicken.

You must pretty bliss right about now then
Honestly, I have been a Styx fan since 77. Loved every show, even with the new line up. Would like to say I loved Dennis' show, but Dennis has not been down here in Biloxi, MS for me to go see his show. Dennis hasn't been within 4 hours, dare I say farther than that, since he has been with Styx. Where am I going with this this? I have know idea! I tired and think I'm about to go to bed. It's My Life, nothing personal, but you left your self wide open to that. Go see a Styx show, you may like it, you may not. Goodnight-ERIC

coming from somebody who has never seen the current band perform, that means about as much as a cup of water talking about how horrible it to be dry.

Just thought I would drop you all a few lines about the Glasgow gig.
It was brilliant.
Very similar set-list to the Nottingham gig except Summer in the City was replaced by Find the Cost of Freedom and they played a brilliant impromptu version of Boat On the River.
They had the best live harmony vocals I have ever seen in the 27 years that I have been going to see bands. Yip, that good.
The atmosphere was really good even though it certainly wasn't full but the people that were there were real fans.
I think the band were genuinely surprised by the reaction that the crowd gave them and it was obvious that they were all enjoying themselves.
Great gig and I really hope they come again..... a lot sooner !!!
