OT - Off topic threads

One Still Learning wrote on another thread:

"I honestly grow a little board with Styx as the topic. Sometimes when I come here I wish the people were the same but the topic was changed ei. kids today , politics , the meaning of life , sports..........."

Classic says:

OSL, I agree entirely. I dabbled a bit on the Politics BB here, but it was dominated by the same 3-4 posters, and it got stale quickly.

There are more and more O.T. posts popping up here....I wonder if the majority here are OK with that, or if they feel it is an annoyance ? I personally like it, but don't know if it is appropriate. I think it would be fun and interesting to converse with the people here on any of the topics you mention.

The question is.....here ? and if not here, where ? and are OSL and I the only 2 who would be interested ?

As you can tell, I don't mind off topic posts at all. I think people should just remember to put OT in the heading and everything should be okay. If members & lurkers don't like the topic, then they can skip reading it. Quite a few of us on here became on-line & off-line friends and found out besides the music of Styx there are a lot of things we have in common.

I'm interested in other music people on here like. I've been buying cd's that people have mentioned, yes Yogi, I did buy Welcome To Hollywood because of you :) I like to know how other concerts were and the songs that were played.

I'm happy with everything, well almost everything on here :D :D :D

I agree with Suite. If it's clearly marked, people can avoid it if they want. Just please...don't turn it into THAT board. lol

I see nothing wrong with off topic posts.

Not a problem with me either. Just mark it as such and maybe let readers know what the topic will be about so they can read, reply or skip entirely.
