It's just Universal repackaging Crystal Ball, Grand Illusion, and Pieces of Eight as a single purchase. Remember that New Door was created to bring back bands they had previously had under contract to help sell the back catalog. Expect a lot of this from the artists New Door signs.

I do not believe these have been re-mastered. Only re-packaged.

Wouldn't it be just great if all the A+M stuff could be remastered. It would have to be DDY doing the remastering though!!!! I doubt if the others would agree to this, so sadly these superb albums may never benefit from modern techno ahhhhhh
But if Roger Glover can do the Deep Purple stuff without Blackmores say so !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The time is right , both camps could benefit from this
whadda you lot say (sensible answers please)

Why would it have to be DeYoung? Just curious.
I think most serious fans would like the material remastered at some point.

Because Dennis DeYoung IS Styx.

Who else???? Dennis had a major hand in producing all the classics , he's the only one to do it IMO. Maybe Dennis could work Gary Loizzo again as I doubt he ever will with the band!!

I agree that Dennis was a large factor in the production area (though that has been disputed here at times). I would imagine he would like to be involved should it happen, however I doubt that would be an option.
And I think Gary Loizzo and Dennis working together again is most likely not going to happen. Just my opinion.
Peace

I thought whoever did the remastering of the Wooden Nickel Stuff did a very good job........Perhaps he/she/they would be an option ?

Sadie
was there a problem between DDY and Loizzo????don't really know the history on that one??
Classic
good shout on the wooden nickle remaster, I thought they did an exellent job.
still would like DDY to have some input on the classics though!!! might help to rebuild bridges, at least get them talking again JMHO.

I agree about theWN compilation. Quite good.
I think the Styxcollector site has some info on who has remastered some of the Styx collections.
I doubt if Dennis would ever be asked to do any remastering. I get the impression, and correct me if I am wrong, that remastering is different from producing.

Because Dennis DeYoung IS Styx.[/quote]
No he's not. He was only a member of Styx at one time! Styx is Styx and Dennis has nothing to do with the band anymore. GET OVER IT!

Bob Ludwig redid the CSA:Anthology and said the original tapes appeared to be in great shape. Seein g he alreay has some familiarity with all the albums, he would be a good choice.

Good call styxmike. It's like IML said we can't get rid of him we can only hope to contain him. Too bad Andrew only has a zero tolerence on personal attacts on the Journey board.
