That's actually one of the few concerts I'd like to check out this summer- mainly for Fogerty, but I imagine Mellencamp would put on a pretty decent show.

To each their own, but Fogerty wrote some truly remarkable songs.. "Fortunate Son", "Who'll Stop The Rain", "Wrote A Song For Everyone"; not to mention some of the awesome cover songs the band did..

Actually, Monker was making humor (I think) by quoting Froy.
Which I found very funny.

ADAM: Can you BELIEVE this guy????? I think you'd be hard pressed to come across anyone else who could spit out a knee-jerk, inwarranted childish insult while simultaneously self congratulating himself...meanwhile completely missing the point (let's not even get into his knowledge & use of English). This guy becomes more entertaining with each post.

P.S. Whose a "copycat"? Not I. AND who said I "love" Gowan? Dude, you give me credit for opinions I don't even have!

By the way, other than Froy, has ANYONE reading this heard the word "Copycat" used anywhere other than an Elementary School playground?

Well, at least I'm good at something.

You're a good hypocrite...going about critiquing Styx for playing the same songs for six but going off to a Fogarty/Mellencamp concert - who have been playing the same songs for years.

One thing you can count on, including my post right now, is this. What's the point in even clicking on a topic when you can be guaranteed that by about the second or third post that it won't even be about the topic but just a few people going at it. No wonder I even hardly lurk here anymore or even care to click on a topic.

No no..don't run off. You see, Froy and Monker think they really are "Industry Moguls" and they also think they know everything. They have opinions, and are free to express them, no matter how wrong they are...Probably two bitter dark individuals locked in a one room apartment, listening to "deep" tracks off 34 year old albums....

Fuckin' negative bastards..

if he doesn't like the way the forum is, doesn't post to it, doesn't even read it, why should he stay?

No I don't. I'm a god, not a 'mogul'. A 'mogul' sounds like some kinda Harry Potter term.

and they also think they know everything.

well, of course I do!

They have opinions, and are free to express them, no matter how wrong they are...

As opposed to those other "industry moguls" who post opinions and state them as facts, and when ask about it have absolutely NO evidence to back it up?

Probably two bitter dark individuals locked in a one room apartment,

It's actualy a closet, not an apartment.

listening to "deep" tracks off 34 year old albums....

Hmm, what CD's do I have loaded in the car changer?

Cyclorama
Arch Allies
Big Bang Theory
Nautilus (Graeham Goble)
Blazing Salads (Glen Shorrock/Brian Cadd)
Two Fires
Running With the wind (Kevin Chalfant).

Nope, no 30+yr old CD's there...I think Blazing Salads is the oldest at around 12yrs. I do need to switch them up tho. When I get the new BSG DVD, I'll burn it to a CD and switch out Arch Allies...and then Generations for maybe the Chalfant CD, whenever I get that.

Come on Monk don't just make things up to keep the fight going
Fogerty has mixed his setlist up so much its unbelievable
I have seen him 6 times since he came back
All the shows were different
Mellencamp I have not seen since Farm Aid 1 .

Well, I have to confess that I chuckled at the "Nope, they both suck" remark by Monker. It truly was very froylike and perfectly timed humor, in my opinion. But getting back to the topic . . .

I'd love to see Mellencamp but I've never been much of a Fogerty fan. However, I'm familiar with several of his songs, both with and without CCR, so it wouldn't be a bad listen for me. I'm not sure if they're coming nearby, but if they are, I might go.

Hmm . . . the more we talk about this, the more I'm giving it some serious thought. Better than Mellencamp, huh? You know, I can't say that I dislike anything by Fogerty (or CCR), just never got around to pursuing their music, I guess!
