Can't remember if we've done this one before or not, but who would you pair with Styx and/or Dennis on the CMT show that matches a country artist with an artist of another genre???? (If you haven't seen it, both acts perform together on stage, selecting songs from their respective catalogs. Sometimes the singers will trade vocal duties on songs, sometimes not).

I'd say Phil Vassar with Dennis.

Styx...hmmm...perhaps Mongomery/Gentry.

just a thought...

Unfortunately, he's passed on, or I'd pair Styx with Johnny Cash.....they could sing his "I've been everywhere" song in honor of their relentless touring schedule over the past 6 years........

Dennis and Kenny Rodgers, yeah could you imagine the rivalry particularly during one song....

KR....Lady, ime your night in shining armour and i love you....
DDY...Lady when your with me ime smiling, .....
KR.....Thats not how it goes
DDY.......Yes it does
KR.......Wanna settle this arguament outside
DDY.....How about right here
KR.....AHHHHHHH get off my frigging beard
DDY..Only if you let go of my hair, this silver perm cost me alot of money, almost half of my out of court settlement with my ex band

Then Barry Manilow rushes in and seperates both of these enraged singers with his nose

BM......Come on guys, you should not be fighting like this, us crooners should stand together against that awful rock music..
DDY......Rock Music.....Whats that ?
KR......Thats when they turn the guitars up and go for it...
DDY....I devised a concept featuring Robotos, spaceships, greasy chicken and guitar shredders to show people how wrong rock music was.......
BM.....Thats great Dennis now how about you opening for me in Vegas this summer, the offer comes with a years free residence at the Ceasers Palace residential home for the aged.
DDY.....You can count me in if we get pretzels for breakfast
BM....All the pretzels you can eat
KR......Can I come too ?
BM.....You trying to ruin me?, having him opening for me is bad enough, could you imagine what having both of you would do to my image, especially if the guy sings First Time.

Darren, LMAO !

ek, I apologize for hi-jacking your topic.....but I couldn't help myself !

WHAT IF.........we had DDY join the cast of HEE HAW as their musical guest for an episode ? One segment would go like this.......

Scene Opens with Dennis and Junior Samples standing in front of a tall fence, both wearing Bib overalls Junior is expressionless and looking directly at the camera, Dennis is looking down, wearing a straw hat and resting a pitchfork fork side up on the ground. Then, the music begins.......Dennis lifts his head, and the duet begins !

WHEEEEEERE OH WHEREEEEEEEEE R - U - 2 NITE
WHY DID YOU LEAVE ME HERE ALL A-LONE ???????
WE CUT....SOMEGOLDRECORDS
AND I THOUGHT I'D FOUND TRUE LOVE.........
YOU MET ANOTHER AND PTTTTTTTH
YOU WERE GONE !

Music Ends, Dennis returns to the head down position, Junior continues to stare at the camera, expressionless, fade to black.

I used to LMAO at that segment on Hee Haw! That show was waaaay silly, but had some terrific music and musicians as guests and as regulars.

And side note: One of my best college friends, Cathy Baker, was the "That's All!" spokesgirl on that show.

CROSSROADS: Dennis paired with a good country female singer so they could do some killer harmonies -- Martina McBride? Faith Hill?
Or pair him with George Strait for some smooth, top notch vocals.

Styx - I agree with Sadie - Montgomery-Gentry or Alabama or maybe Brooks and Dunn?

Bugsy
