Just want to extend my horror at the events that took place. Hoping all of fellow Stygians across the pond are safe, as well as their loved ones. You in my thoughts and good wishes. What an awful thing.

Peace

Adding my "hope all are safe" wishes to our UK buddies.

Many years ago, it was the IRA doing this. Now Al Queda.

And, answering Styxmike, no, I don't think anyone is safe anymore.

Brings to mind the old Depeche Mode line ("I can't understand what makes a man hate another man, help me understand") I know I sure don't get it.

I hope all of you, your family and friends are safe.

I agree, no one is safe, no matter where you live in this world. Very sad.

DarrenUK and styxmike,

Please stay safe!

And to all the other Melodicrock message board posters across the sea - you are in our thoughts also....

To all my American friends thank you for the kind words, although our attacks today were not on the same scale as the ones your country suffered at 9/11 it still hurts to see fellow British people executed for no reason whatsoever, they were all just ordinary people going to work or about their day, just like those poor unfortunate people who lost their lives in New York and Washington.
I hope this sends a clear message to those countries like France & Germany that terrorism cannot be ignored and action is needed. I was never a big fan of George W Bush but after his speech today he has gone up 100% in my estimation.......every civil country on this planet must unite and drive these mad scum terrorists out of which ever country harbours them. My earlier rant about nuking Syria was a statement of anger and i know innocent people in Syria would be killed if that happened and if i offended anyone I am sorry.

9/11 then Bali then Madrid then Istanbul and now London...........countries like France will never get involved in any action against terror, they are all talk and no action.....nothing pleased me more than wiping the faces off of those smug Pariseans when London got the olympics in 2012.........when Germany invaded and took over France it was the American and British troops helped by the Canadians who freed them..........they should remember that......but taking a Frenchman into battle with you is like taking a guitar on a hunting trip......

The terrorists wont win, they will never stop us enjoying our freedom, they will never stop the way of like we enjoy, they will never bring there opressed way of life into our society, no matter what happens they will be hunted and dealt with and when they are i will be the happiest man on this planet.....as Ronald Raegan once said .....You Can Run, But You Cant Hide.....HOW TRUE.

This whole day makes me very sad and fearful. My heart goes out to everyone directly & indirectly affected by these senseless attacks. Having been to London a couple of times, this had a greater impact on me than when other cities around the world get bombed or terrorized. This is in no way meant to trivialize terrorist attacks in other places; it's just that this hits so much closer to "home" for me, as it did on 9/11/01.

God bless the people of London.

Mrs Classic is saving her money for a trip to Paris with her sisters next spring......I have NO desire whatsoever to go overseas myself, and this makes me pause to consider if I am comfortable with her going.

Man, it's a crazy world, full of insane people, isn't it ? how could a sane person do something like this to others ?

When I was younger, I dreamed of going a lot of places overseas but now I'm a lot like you, classic (as in NO desire). I'm content to stay here in the U.S. and I'm humbled as I begin to realize that my lifetime won't be long enough to explore everything within our own borders, much less elsewhere. I still haven't been to the West Coast, Hawaii, or Alaska, and those are three places I'd really like to see. Having said all that, I visited Spain when I was much younger and it was a hoot!

I'm sure other countries are great and everything, I'd just prefer to spend my money on toys rather than trips....and as long as Mrs Classic has sisters and they still like to travel together, everyones happy.

Toys eh..........what kind of toys

oh, lets see now.........DVD Burners, ( and a few DVD's to play ) Computers, TV's, Riding lawnmowers, etc. I also like to dine out more than the average person.

Even though I may not have the nicest things
( for instance, my 95 minivan has been christened " the white trash mobile"....! ) I am blessed to have everything I need and most of what I want materially.

I know. I still don't understand how Tommy and JY could screw over Dennis in that manner.

Welcome DarwinNebraska.............

If you'd made that post a year ago, or even 6 months ago, I'd be telling you to DUCK ( take cover ) !

But, the conversation /discussion / argument on this topic has been beaten to a bloody pulp here already, several times over, and I think there is topic fatigue here.....of course, the other posters here may have a different idea.........

Anyways, if you are REALLY bored, feel free to read some of the older topics here on the board, they at times are rather entertaining.

and welcome to the board !

Tasteless, classless, and totally inappropriate to turn this into another Styx vs. Dennis argument. But you can take comfort in knowing our soldiers (and even innocent bystanders) are dying everyday so you can take that very liberty, jerkoff.

don't let the bastards put you off seeing the world dude! go to Paris and enjoy
I remember booking my first air flight to your country, then a month later 9/11 happened. The number of times I nearly cancelled, glad I didn't, the start of a beautiful obsession with Florida!!!!!!!!! And I got to see Styx!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The bastards won't get me anyway

Zan, not a bad name.....better add a calipso song or 2 to your set though.

And Styxmike, I have very thick skin.....just having fun right back at ya ! no offense taken, I just am trying to avoid the redundant arguments
that have been taking place in the 2 + years I've been coming here....

BTW, trivia for anyone.....of the ( semi ) regular posters here, who found Melodic Rock 1st ? Hint, it's not any of the "Industry Moguls"

anyone ?

I know you were. Sorry to snap like that. I just didn't think it was the time for jokes - there is really nothing humorous about what happened.
