Why Me (Photo thread!)

I figured I'd take the pressure off the rest of you and just take the 1000th hit myself. haha...

Back a few years ago, on the old Styxboard, we had a photo contest that lasted over the course of two weeks. There were a multitude of catagories including: Best composition, best individual, duo, trio, funniest, etc. I thought we could do something smiliar here, only instead of making it a contest, we could just post some of our more "proud" photos of the band - or band members for everyone.

I know most of you here have been long time fans, and I'm sure you have some gems sitting in a box somewhere! So, go dig 'em out, scan 'em, and post them here so we can all enjoy looking at them!

Hopefully, some of you will be into this, and the thread won't die a quick death. I'll go thru some of my own to get the ball rolling later on today...

Zan, it's a GREAT idea, I love pictures. But I don't know how to post a picture on here (on the bottom). I've tried and tried. I've seen your pictures and they're GREAT!! Really nice treasures to have.

My personal pictures only go back to 1990 and most recent a few weeks ago. I wish I had older ones.

Suite, if you join a photo storing site, like imagestation.com, they will store the pics for you, and you can post them to boards like this one. You upload the pics directly from your computer. Once they have a "web" link, all you have to do is click the "Img" tab above, paste the URL, and click "img" again. That should do it.

I have a lot of pictures stored in ImageShack. I just have problems with the URL and IMG buttons. I'll try again. I'll add the pictures, I just have to cut my mugshot and keep the band members - LOL

Some of those sites won't allow their URLS to be shared on other websites. Cartogra's like that. Imagestation is one that still allows it. Typically, when you click the link of your thumbnail and the pictures opens to full view, you can right click it and select "properties." Once that window opens up, you would highlight the ENTIRE url and copy it. Then you come here, click Img, paste URL, click Img again. Good luck!

I was going to PM you with this information, but I thought there would be more people on here that would like to know how to do it :)

What should my pixels be at? Right now they're at:

258x450 pixels

I don't want the pictures to be HUGE. I downloaded a few pictures at Imagestation.

I can change my avatar with Imageshack, but they have to be some for some reason to post on here.

I keep getting the "red box". I did the IMG then pasted the URL link and then IMG again. Do you think my picture was too big?

Give me the link to the photo. I'll see if I can figure it out.

So, you send me this:

I guess it'll die a quick death. lol

Oh well, I'll post a few more recent shots for now and dig out the favorites shortly. If you see the red X of doom, right click and select "show picture," and that should work.

OK, I figured out what I was doing wrong. Suite: The photo of DDY: when you get to the picture in your album, CLICK the picture, and it will open in a new window. Once it's in that new window, THEN select properties and highlight the hyperlink and post it. That should allow the picture to be seen...

I saw Zan's pictures and then I saw mine briefly on here. If someone knows how to post these picture, I'll send it to them. I thought I did everything right

I'll take the red x's off until I can get the pictures up.

Here's how I get images to work:

First type [img]

Then paste the url

Then type [/img] (don't forget the slash)

No spaces allowed! Good luck.

I also converted to a jpeg image.
