This year's fair is just under way. Today's schedule includes a strongman competition, sweet corn eating contest, Styx concert and the beginning of 4-H livestock judging.

Ha! Did you ever think, back in the day, that our beloved Styx would be sandwiched in between such events? What a humbling experience getting older is! Once upon a time I espoused how much Styx kicked ass over everything else out there! Now the band is fragmented and playing parking lots, airports, etc. I guess I enjoy laughing at myself, so it's no big deal to me.

Livestock Judging ?

Pull The Udder One.........

Sweetcorn eating contest has the Jolly Green Giant at 2-1 fave.
I hope the livestock dont get on the stage.......imagine the cow stuck on Larry's revolving keyboard.........the poor thing will vomit all over the crowd but at least with all them cows the band will have an accompanying horn section.

Yeah, and the next time Dennis performs to frogs or from a hot air baloon, let us know.

This board was starting to get fun again until Monker shows up. :x I don't know why I'm even responding to you but, I do recall that I posted about Dennis playing at the Milwaukee County Zoo a few years back and this board had some of the funniest comments.

Hi Bugsy,

I thought you'd like it

I do like this song, I just heard it at the neighbors. When I was looking up lyrics, the lyrics to Beatles songs are pretty short, hey? Is this for most of their songs? A lot of yeah, yeah's too. I guess I'm going to have to go to the Beatles 411 class and learn more.

Not to be a Beatles nerd ( though I am one.....) but that lyric should be credited to Lennon & McCartney not the Beatles......

Truthfully, I doubt John had much to do with it, but they were a songwriting team, so all their songs wrere credited as being co-written by both.

BTW Beatles Trivia....did you know the Music for Yesterday was completely written before any of the lyrics ? Does anyone here know what the original working title for Yesterday was ?

I'll answer tonight if no one knows...it's pretty funny !

I've always wondered if they had any additional Lyrics to go along with that title ?

I had forgotten that about that song -- that the original title was "Scrambled Eggs".

Also, Froy, Classic, is that not the most recorded song (covered) ever? I think I read that somewhere.

Surprised it was not on BBT. Kidding!!! I KID!!!!!

Well, who on earth covered it? I've never heard any other versions other than the Beatles. That's pretty amazing, if it's been covered more than any other song!!!!!

Bugsy, what a message THAT would have sent to the faithful ! Now, here's a scary thought........GOWAN ON VOCALS ! You couldnt have TS or JY sing it, or it would be interpreted as wanting DDY to come back to the group. I'm sure ol Lar would treat it tenderly

Maybe it would fit on Dennis's next release !

Oh, and all of those covers.....Bing Crosby, Paul Anka, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and just about everybody whoi was popular while we were in diapers covered that song !

Thanks :) I made the changes on my tagline :)

I thought you were all kidding about the "Scrambled Eggs" so I looked it up and you were right

Here's the info for those that didn't know (like me). Excellent history lesson for me. The "Scrambled Eggs" lyrics are on here too :)

Yep, and then hypocrits came out of the woodwork when people like me made fun of those menus. If you don't like it being done to Dennis, don't do it to Styx.

The problem is, you are going to "do it" to Dennis whether anyone "does it" to Current Styx or not.

So, we may has well have a little fun in the process.

Certainly Darren sees the humor on both sides and posts funny stuff in response.

All of us have teased about Dennis, even those on "his side" when the mood strikes, as well as teased about Current Styx.

If you choose not to see it, it is your problem.

And, it should be expected that somebody like me will come into the thread and complain. It's going to be like that for both sides. You should be used to it by now.
