Just go the day of the show and you can sit up front

Dave, did you see the new Carrot Styx dates? I would think Waukegan (Genesee Theatre) would be closer to you the night before the Merrillville one or even Peoria, IL on Oct. 23rd.

Wow, this really is the never-ending tour - LOL

10/13/05 Arena at Gwinnett Center Duluth, GA

Yes, but the show in Waukegan costs $75/ticket. Where as Merrillville is only $42. Plus Merrillville is on a Saturday which is better for us. It is only about a 3 hour drive from Madison depending on how Chicago traffic is. We will spend the night regardless, and The Star Plaza in Merrillville has a Raddison connected to it.

I keep sending e-mails to The Crystal Grand Theater in Wisconsin Dells which is only about 45 minutes from us, trying to get them to re-book STYX. They have played there a couple of times and we really enjoyed it.

It will cost you the same when you factor in the Gas prices

Hey Dave,

Tell me about the venue in the Dells....is it a good place for a Rock show ?
Decent sight lines and or acoustics ?

Also, did Styx fill the place when you went, or was ther a lot of excess capacity ?

I may make the journey ( 75 minute drive ) next time if they play there...

Classic, do you know if Journey is playing there for sure? I'd love to see them again, this time in an indoor venue that's a little more intimate.

I made it to the Dells in less than 2 hours

Kansas, I'm sure Carrot Styx will be back in Wisconsin soon, maybe at the Northern Lights theater in Milwaukee

The place holds about 2000. They usually have country western oldies acts there. But occasionally they bring in classic rock. STYX sold out both times I saw them there. The accoustics are good. But the sound is a little weird if they use the house system. STYX used their own sound the last time they were in there. The sight lines are all good. But the balcony is pretty far back. The place is nice if you like pink. They sell beer and let you bring it to your seat, which is kinda rare in theaters.
