Another little quiz about a STYX song.

Does anyone know why "22 Years" became the title of the song or the little story about it?

Sadie, you can't play this one - LOL

 - LOL Okie Dokie, then I guess you'll have to wait an extra 3 years for all the Dennis & STYX stuff that I'm sending

Hey - Bugsy, do you remember this part? 8)

The best part of the video tape is when Dennis talks about the Roboto mask in the bedroom and the song he puts with it. His expressions are priceless, that's the funniest footage that I've ever seen in my life.

Isn't it John C. singing about how long it took him to find his new girlfriend/wife?

I really like the music to this one, and the vocals traded by J.Y./Dennis.

That's what I always thought too. I really, really like this song. GREAT rock song with, as you say, Black Wall, terrific vocals by Dennis and JY.

I always thought this was one of John C.'s better compositions and they all just rocked the hell out of it.

The boys in the band KNEW they needed Dennis in the band to get rich and famous, but even back in the WN era, they knew that some day they'd have to throw him out on his ear, to maintain their sanity !
so, the 1st draft of the lyric was written from JC's future perspective in 1995.

The original lyric went:

It a long time to fire him
Took alot of patience here
It took a long time to fire him
It took us..........22 YEARS !

Since it was written in 73-74, it turns out JC was about 4 years off, and sadly, as it turns out, he just couldnt wait that long, so he quit 1st.....

And that is the REAL story of 22 years !!!

Someone better post the story of 22 Years soon, or I'll have to weave some more tall tales about the songs origin.......

so please, but everyone out of their misery, before I make up stories about how the song was originally named:

"22 Queers" "22 Beers" 8) , etc.....

So it was a hot August Day, not unlike this one, and the boys were driving down to do a show in Monkerville Iowa......they hadnt eaten all day, and they were VERY hungry. Being as this was Iowa, they saw a sign advertising a Corn Eating Festival in the next town....where you could get an ear of Corn and a Beer for One Dollar.

So, taking advantage of this good fortune, they stopped, and by the time they left, they were very satisfied......prompting JC to write the original Lyric to the song that would become 22 Years........it went:

It took along time to get full
Took alot of Corn and Beers
It took a long time to fill us
It took us..................................22 EARS !!!!!!!!

I know I know.....very CORNY, isn't it ???

Good Job Black Wall, you had the closest answer.

Classic, well, um, you have the best stories :)

I sent the answer to Classic, I was hoping he's post it.

Here it is:

"22 Years" was JC's song about meeting his wife, whom he met when he was 22.

Just more useless STYX information. 8)

You're welcome Classic - LOL Maybe I should've waited a week to hear more explanations of the song title from you - LOL

I'm looking for a few more for a little STYX trivia that maybe most fans didn't know about.

You let him off too easy! I wanted to read about 22 fears, 22 gears, 22 jeers, 22 leers (that could be very interesting), 22 pears, 22 rears (to go with the underwear on stage  ).

Just imagine the possibilities he could have come up with....

Trivia....bring it on...or don't I get to play again?

Gr8, it actually all started the weekend Glen was busted in the middle of Arkansas with a roach clip with some weed in it.......the cops there had little else to do for fun, so they busted him, and threw him in a cell with
BUBBA LARRY JIM BOB, who up until that point was a very lonely man.........

Now, those of you who may have inferred that Glen was in for the ride of his life ( and was on course for a wedding night he would never forget....) SHAME ON YOU ! for BUBBA LARRY JIM BOB wasn't that kind of guy !

Rather, he just needed someone who would listen to his story ! He was in the wrong place at the wrong time....accused of killing a cop who was actually killed by his partner, who covered up by being the star witness at
B.L.J.B.'s trial.......now, sentanced to death, he was struggling to come to terms with his impending doom........

After ending his weekend in jail and getting back out on the road, Glen was inspired to write a song! and that's the story of KYAGB
