Blast from the past.

This is from the Grand Illusion Tour 1977. I had to really shrink the picture down. The band is in the front row.

Chuck - Tommy - Dennis - John - JY

I was just a little girl with pigtails during that tour - LOL There was no way I could go to those concerts, my bedtime was 7:30pm - LOL

But, I was able to go 20 years later in 1997, not the same, but still a GREAT concert!!!

I look to the sea
Reflections in the waves spark my memory
Some happy, some sad
I think of childhood friends
And the dreams we had

Here's another picture from the same tour..............

Alas, I was all of seven back then. Don't think I would hear a Styx song for about another 5 years!

Oh hush! I was an old person of twelve. Within 6 years I was one of the ones that had Best of Times as their prom song. Ya little youngster you!

Geez, you old fart! I do remember slow dancing to Best Of Times with my future wife at a wedding reception in the late 80s. Apparently someone named ek88 smuggled in a Styx cassette for the DJ -- LOL!!!!!

That person was awfully smart! When I got married back in 1986, one of the songs we danced to was Best of Times. And our memories of yesterday....

But shame on the dj for not having it in the first place

UGH, I remember when I was a freshman in high school and I went to my first real dance the theme song was "Stairway to Heaven", I thought that was such a stupid song for a dance. Yeah, real romantic.

I'm looking at my yearbooks - EGAD My senior year dance song was "Send Her My Love" - Journey I had such a pretty dress in one of the pictures - LOL Totally 80's.

1981 Homecoming - "Open Arms" Journey (ah yes)

The other dance songs were "lame" - LOL

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I wish I had been more familar with the band when I saw them in 78. I am however surprised I remembered them as I was 16 and on a double date with a good friend. It was winter and I had driven into Boston for the concert (2 16 year olds with 15 year old dates going to a rock concert in a snowstorm, what were our parents thinking?) I locked the keys in the car and we had to call my girl friends parents to come rescue us. Next day Mom drives me back into town to pick up the car. Here is the fun part, sitting on the front seat is a foot long glass bong. The car is still covered with snow so I am despertely trying to get the frozen lock to open with the spare keys before Mom sees the bong. I was not succsesfull and I can't remember how long I was grounded for. I blame Styx for this............
