3 Piece Bands

I'm watching my Triumph DVD, I miss them. Anyway what other bands were or are successful that only have 3 members in them? I guess there's a drummer, guitarist, bass guitarist and one usually also plays keyboards/piano, right?

All I can think at the moment is:

Triumph
Rush
Green Day

In the studio the guys can play multiple instruments, but on the stage it was just the 3 of them - Triumph that is.

Stray Cats
The Police

You could add Wilson Phillips to that if you consider 3 vocalists opposed to 3 band members

Great list of bands, I forgot about most of these - thanks everyone.

Hey Gr8dane, congratulations on your 500th post!!! Hope you have many, many more on here :)

I thought Three Dog Night had more than 3 members?

Useless Information Alert:

Dennis said in an interview that one of his influences was Three Dog Night.

Genesis was a 3 piece at one time? I know the major contributors were Phil, Mike and Tony...but originally it also include Peter Gabriel. And they always used more people on tour.

It is also news to me that Bryan Adams was considered a 3 piece...

Since Spinal Tap's drummers kept dying, I guess they were always a 3 piece! :D

I read that Genesis are in talks about getting back together. Phil, Peter, Mike, Tony and Steve. Who knows if it's just a rumor or if it's true

I would love to see Phil and Peter on the same stage.

All these bands are getting older, I hope most of them can reunite for one last hurrah!!

Now that Pink Floyd had their "Final Curtain Call" at Live 8, about the biggest possible reunion out there aside of the Styx and Journey never ending sagas would be a Genesis reunion with Collins and Gabriel.

Are the parties all at least friendly to each other , or is there a huge soap opera going on behind the scenes with them too ?

That's one concert I would not miss !
