Wow, WAY TO GO!!
Dennis' Montreal show just sold out this morning within 1 hour. I think they're working on adding another show.
I wonder how Quebec City will do tomorrow.
This is GREAT news!!! Well, for me it is and I'm very excited, dammit!!

That is GREAT news!! What size venues is he playing in Canada??
Suite, since you seem to have his ear from time to time will he ever come back to Texas. I know his concert in Houston at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion about 3 plus years ago didnt sell squat, but I REALLY think if he played San Antonio with or without an orchestra he would sell ALOT of tickets.
Styx gets shown alot of love in San Antonio. They are played quite often on 3 stations. KZEP 104.5 classic rock( Renegade, Blue Collar Man, Come Sail Away, Madame Blue, Lady ) We have another classic rock station here out of Hondo KMFR 105.9 which reaches far beyond San Antonio and they play deeper cuts of Classic Rock( Lorelei, Light Up, Fooling Yourself, Queen Of Spades, Miss America, Crystal Ball , plus the ones mentioned above). Finally, they have a hits station( Magic 105.3) that plays Lady, Babe(often), Mr. Roboto, Come Sail Away, Desert Moon, The Best Of Times, and they were the station that played Paradise back in 1997 or whenever Return To Paradise came out.
They have some real nice smaller venues 1,500- 4,500 seats. I saw Steve Perry's Starange Medicine Tour at one of these venues( cant remember the name). He sold it out, and I know Dennis could FOR SURE do the same.

If someone could sell out a concert on charm alone, Dennis sure did this morning on his 2 hour guest spot on Montreal radio. He was SO great! And he sounded terrific.
The deejay who interviewed him was, fortunately, one who knew his stuff and it showed. Good interview, good interplay. Lots of interesting stories and Styx trivia.
Yogi! I think the same thing. There are so many venues in Houston, San Antonio and Austin that are not huge, but very nice. I keep hoping he could work a deal with Houston PBS and the Houston Symphony. He has mentioned how great a symphony Houston has in several interviews.
We can always keep the faith. I think the folks in Canada are happy to finally have him up there.

The Montreal show is at the Place des Artes and it is a 3000 seat venue.
A second show is to be added and tickets go on sale tomorrow, I believe.

Yes, just about 3,000 seats.

No, the second date hasn't been added yet. The tickets on sale tomorrow is for the Quebec City which takes place the day after the Montreal show

I know nothing - LOL

I know there are a lot of dates (well not a lot like Carrot Styx) set for next year. Once the i's are dotted then the dates will be posted. So far I didn't hear anything about Texas. But if I do, you and Bugsy will be the very first to know.

That may have been the show, rather than Montreal.
Very cool for him, no question.

Yes

You are correct Missy
Luckily I've been to both Montreal and Quebec City so I actually know where they are. I'm still learning the cities in Florida - LOL Zan's not here to help me.
Next lesson for me will be Texas
