were "overheard" complaining to Andrew how they didn't think Journey should be listed underneath Styx in the Forums table of Contents.....

Andrew ( no doubt already fatigued by the inscessant WHINING that goes on over there, coupled with a long week of rebuilding the board after a week of hack-attacks ) acquiesced, and moved Journey to the top position, in spite of the fact theat the Styx board has over 20 percent more posts than it's unworthy competition !

I think I speak for my fellow posters here on the Styx board in saying
"Andrew, we understand.........." If it makes them feel better having their less popular forum for an obvoiusly inferior band listed 1st, we are OK with that here.......we know who the position rightfully belongs to in our hearts, and if will spare you a significant amount of grief and wailing, well, we'll just be the bigger men ( and women ) and feed their needy egos.

because , we know, and they know Journey isn't fit to carry Styx collective jock strap !!! :wink:

AMEN, Brother Classic! Except for who is the "better band." I happen to agree with you, but I really love Journey, so I can't join in on some of what you said, and we have some Journey fans here who seem to be very reasonable people. :wink:

For the first time in a LONG time, I tripped over to the Journey board today and, well, they do make us look rather tame, I must say.

But to each his/her own, I say. I do believe our board rules and the posts sure prove it.

In some ways this is similar to 2 brothers playing a game, the older brother being larger/smarter/more athletic nonetheless lets the younger/littler brother score a basket or win a round on occasion so that his self esteem doesnt take such a beating that he wont want to play again next week............

so what the heck, they can be listed 1st......if it makes them feel better.

Well, since the Journey forum was deleted at one time there are at least 10,000 more posts you can add to Journey's total...and the fact that Journey is catching up to Styx' total every day ..even though the Styx forum has a few years head start...I think the case can be made for Journey...

Monker, that was EXCELLENT!! Even though for the most part we don't see eye to eye on almost everything (LOL), you are a very creative individual!!

That's really too bad. I think many of you over there raise interesting topics.

What would be the point in continuing to argue over something that isn't going to changed? In our case, Dennis v. Styx. I can only speak for myself here, but I'd rather just accept what is and make the best of it. Like who you like.

You gotta be kidding right? You actually think Andrew moved Journey to the top simply because Deano (a member who has been given at least one vacation) said Journey should be #1? I am positive that was all Andrew's idea. I made notice that he moved the journey board to #2. That made sense to me since this board and the Journey Board have the most activity. I agree with Monker that if you account for the times the Journey Board has been closed, that board might very well be the more acyive board...who knows? But you call "us" whiners and then make a post like this? Cmon...PLEASE tell me I simply missed the "joke"...

BTW...how many people did Styx play to on their recent tour?

I took it as a joke. Classic is out resident class clown and very seldom takes things seriously. Again, I'll speak only for me, I honestly don't care about number of posts. I personally think it's great that there are 2 classic rock bands out there who have people wanting to "talk" about them as often as both groups do.

As for Styx and their never ending tour...I've often maintained they need to come in off the road for a while and build an audience again. For me, they've worn out their welcome. That being said, I don't and won't hold it against anyone who wants to see them. More power to them.
