So, I'm watching X-Play on G4/TechTV and a review for "RPG Maker 3" comes up. So, as part of the review, they start 'inventing' an RPG. What do they invent?

Well, it's set in Styxville...

"20 years ago the rock group Styx opened a portal of pure evil. The world fell into chaos and darkness. Bob and his wife are the last hope for us all."

Wife, "Let's go on an adventure! I think Mr. Roboto is the ruler of this town. Oh, shit, where's my glasses?"

Bob, "I just crapped my pants! "

Wife, "We need to find the 80's rock supergroup Styx. The last I heard Mr. Roboto was the ruler of this town."

Bob, "It's running down my leg and into my shoe....."

They enter the town and start talking to Mr. Roboto...

Mr. Roboto, "I am Mr. Roboto, the ruler of this village!"

Wife, "You look like a monkey."

Monkey, "The evil Dennis DeYoung came and stole all of my robot powers."

Bob, "Do you have a bathroom?"

So, the two go searching for Dennis DeYoung, and find him...

"A little monkey told us you are Dennis DeYoung, the genius behind the 80's rock supergroup Styx. Is this true?"

Dennis DeYoung, "That was a long time ago. Now I am known as the Evil Robot Monkey King Kilroy..Kilroy...Kilroy....Kilroy..........Kilroy"

Bob, "Can you still play 'Come Sail Away'?"

Evil Robot Monkey King Kilroy, "Yes, but you will have to go to the local talent show. It is there that I will destroy you!"

So, the two go to the talent show...

Wife, "A song to the death! One, and a two, and a three...
My skirts are short and my tops are tight
Just catch my eye and you'll be mine tonight
I may be elderly but this much is true
If you want me, baby, I want you"

Bob, "Oooo, baby, baby"

Dennis DeYoung, "Your pop songs are too powerful for my arena rock anthems. NOOOOOOO!"

Wife, "This adventure was stupid. Let's get you home and clean up your pants."

RPG Maker 3 get a 3 out of 5.

And they all lived happily ever after.

Seriously...I didn't write this. It was ON THE TV SHOW X-Play. When the review was over and they went back to the two hosts, one said, "The people who work here are insane." The other replied, "Well, I enjoyed the 'I crapped my pants' side quest." "Adam, only you would."

Too funny. They do nostalgic comedy often...but I was pretty suprised to see Styx references. The comedy on that show is as good as South Park...geez the zombie episode for Halloween was hillarious.

Me get out of videogameland? I own a Gamecube...that's about as far out of videogameland as you can get. Well, except for maybe an Ngage.
