We caught the last show of STYX 1999 tour Saturday night at the Star Plaza. The 3,300 seat theater was sold out and STYX gave us the full show. Too bad it wasn't taped for Soundstage.

Setlist:

Blue Collar Man
Grand Illusion
One with Everything - great to see they are still supporting Cyclorama
Lorelei
Lady
Snow Blind - JY introduced his 86 year old mother who was sitting in the front row of the balcony. She got standing ovation.
Walrus
Too Much Time
Boat on the River - A pleasant surprise
Medley
Find the Cost of Freedom
Can't Find My Way Home
Crystal Ball
Fooling Yourself
Miss America
Come Sail Away

One Way Out - The first time I have heard that song live
I Don't need no Doctor - My favorite song of the evening. Gowan owns that song
Renagade

Chuck was there for the last few songs. The Star Plaza is a great venue with a nice hotel attached to it.

Sounds like a GREAT show. I sure wish they would add Gowan/ Styx's version of 'A Salty Dog'. Talk about owning a song. Rip him all you want he's AWESOME!!!!

Nah, not gonna rip him. Sounds like Dave had a great time.

I do wonder though what happened to the Soundstage thing.

At any rate, thanks for sharing.

Not in a ripping mood (too tired & crabby)

Hey, Gowan's a nice guy, just don't like his singing of certain songs - ACK!!!

Glad you had a great time too Dave :)

I would've loved to hear/see "Boat on The River" - I love that song :)

I do wonder though what happened to the Soundstage thing.

I'm sure it had to do with the disagreements of a few songs that were chosen and no one was going to budge - all 3 parties that were involved and no "budgement" (cute word of the day) by any (LOL), just a hunch by me, only me.

Nope, not "Babe", not "Best of Times"!!! The 3 other heavy hitters that they're playing - I think.

Just hope he did not pay to much for it!!! :P

It does sound like a concert they were fully intending to impress with -- lots of songs and Boat on the River! I know you enjoyed that one, Dave.

A good show for Current Styx fans, no question.

So now Suite likes the Panthers (who laid a big egg sunday) and Larry (who didn't)? It was just a matter of time.

For my next trick, convincing her that C3PO and R2D2 aren't the droids she's looking for.

May the Swartz be with you. :D

The Panthers are OKay (LOL), Packers are my team, well, we'll see after tonight

and Larry (who didn't)? It was just a matter of time.

I always said that Gowan is a nice guy (read pages 1-19 on here- LOL) , no one will ever change my mind about his singing, well, singing the Classic STYX songs. No one, not even a bribe - LOL

For my next trick, convincing her that C3PO and R2D2 aren't the droids she's looking for.

LOL, good luck with that and you're trying. You know that C3PO is the one I've been looking for

May the Swartz be with you.

LOL!!!!
