STYX on tv tonight

Postby SuiteMadameBlue » Tue Nov 22, 2005 1:26 pm

Anybody see these shows tonight?

"How I Met your Mother" - "Mr. Roboto" was used in a flashback at a strip club is what they were dancing to (LOL)

"Las Vegas" - with a drag queen performing "Come Sail Away" at a funeral (LOL)

These were posted on another board, I didn't see these shows (Packer game on) - LOL

Along with the fade out of a two parter morphing into a comic strip. Have no idea what it was about, but it looked cool

And now you are older and wiser.

A slight sidestep here. One of the more popular bands here in Canada for the last 15 or so years,Tragically Hip had a song from the early 80es called New Orleans is Sinking.Needless to say, that was taken off the playlist on many a radio station.
So abitaman, which song have you replaced 'Come sail away' for???

In the classic rock magazine I always buy, they have interviews with all kinds of musicians, and the last questions is always, which song would you like to be played at your funeral????
Jesus loves you ,but everybody else thinks you're a knob.

I have a cd made already for my funeral (they might change) I want everything to be ready, just in case. I hope to have all these songs put with my pictures of my life to be shown too. These songs would be playing before the service. (I know, I know)

During the service I'll have just a few songs playing, probably a few slow ones.

Almost everyone who knows me, knows that I have been a STYX/Dennis/80's fan my whole life :)

Lady
Hello God
Paradise
You're My Best Friend (Queen)
Crystal Ball
While There's Still Time
We've Only Just Begun (Carpenters)
Best of Times
Sing For The Day
Open Arms (Journey)
Faithfully (Journey)
Don't Let It End
Come Sail Away
Goodbye (Night Ranger)
Goodbye Roseland

I wish I could say it was a Styx song, or even a Classic Journey song. I may change my mind if I have time, but right now I'm thinking it would be Loved By You by the current band that's called Journey.

or Perhaps REM's:

" It's the end of the world as we know it ( and I feel fine ) "

or maybe I could comission a re-recording with a little Lyric edit of a few songs .....

Kenny Rogers could sing

You picked a fine time to leave me Class-ic

The Eagles could re-record Already Gone or Peaceful Easy Feeling

check this out.....

Cus I got a peaceful easy feeling
and I know you 'll lower me down......
and I'll soon be bout 6 feet......Under ground !!!!

Or here's a Skynrd classic with a twist:

Cus I'm as free as a bird now
One with the avian flu...
whoawhoawhoa whoa
Here it comes now, achoo !!!!
whoawhaowhoawhoa
Feelin dizzy, not a clue
whoawhoawhoawhoa
Bye Bye now to you...........

This is fun.......I may have to start my own list.

I'd guess a song that wouldn't work would be Too Much Time on My Hands...though Classic may disprove that theory

Yikes Classic  You're very creative - LOL

Back to Styx on Tv, I watched "Old School" the other night and the wedding singer was singing (LOL) "Lady". That one can be added to Styx songs on tv or movies :)

That was a FUNNY movie. :D
