Canadian Tours Merge

Postby classicstyxfan » Wed Nov 23, 2005 2:29 pm

Oh my ! someone check the temperature in Hell , quick !!!!!

For Inmmediate release 11/22/05 9 pm EST.

Per a joint announcement made by management for musicians Dennis DeYoung and Lawrence Gowan, the orchestral tours scheduled by these musicians will be merged into one show.

The unusual merger of tours was made necessary when the keyboardist playing in DeYoungs back up band fell ill with a seroius illness of an undisclosed nature. DeYoung did not want to cancel his shows several of which had sold out. "I was in a real pickle....where was I going to find another keyboardist who knows my music well on short notice ???? Then it hit me......Larry is a guy, who knows my music, and heck, he can play circles around me...for real ! "

For his part, Gowan was modest. " I may not be able to play those circles around Dennis....unless he stands really really still right next ot my keyboards. My shows weren't selling anyways, and I certainly cant afford to pay an orchestra on my Styx salary ! so this is a perfect solution for everyone. "And the best part is, I won't have to sing a note !"

Asked how his bandmates in Styx might react to the news, Gowan said
"In Canada, I am the Legend, so they'll just have to understand !!!!"
No additional shows have been scheduled at this time.

For additional information or tourdates, visit DeYoungs new website www.iusedtobestyx.com , or Gowans site www.vocallychallenged.com

That's interesting, all up in Canada, eh? LOL Gowan did open for Styx in the 1998 (?) so they do know each other.

When asked about this historic Merger Tour, DeYoung did admit that Gowan had agreed to be the roadie, and set-up guy (because he had "plenty of tape to put those setlists securely onstage"), and will clean up after the show as well (because he said he has "a decent broom at my house I can use.")

Mr. Gowan will also provide the food backstage because he "knows some really good grocery stores up here in Canada, eh."

In U.S. news, Legendary Legend James (JY) Young, when asked about this tour, responded "Gowan who?"

And the fans in Canada rejoiced when it was announced that a duet of Music Time will be performed. In addition, Gowan announced that he was planning to write his own musical based on his experiences on the never ending tour...he plans to title it...

Larry wanted to perform some slushy ballads but Dennis said he would withdraw if the guy tried to step into Barry Manilow territory as he had made this position his own...
