Before Styx, the band was known as TW4.

Question:
What is TW4 short for?

(Sadie and Bugsy cannot play, like usual) - LOL

Was it Tradewinds 4?

Did you know that a gas valve for your heater is $600? I do (now).

Sorry about hearing about your heater Scott, just terrible with the price!!

Um, nice location

Sorry again, but you are not correct with the answer:

In 1965, when another group called the Trade Winds had a hit with "New York's A Lonely Town," the Panozzo-DeYoung-Nardini Trade Winds changed their name to TW4. That lineup lasted until the late 1960's, when Tom Nardini left the band, and the Panozzos and DeYoung enrolled in Chicago Teachers' College, a division of Chicago State University. Still keeping their musical dreams alive, TW4 sang and performed in the college cafeteria, where their college brethren cheered their every performance. Another student, John Curulewski, played an acoustic guitar in the cafeteria one day, and Dennis DeYoung invited him to join TW4.

Thank you for playing, please try again for a prize :)

You're welcome :) Everyone has their opinions, it's no problem at all. I'm trying really hard to ease up on current Styx and not be so negative.

I passed 3,000 posts because I live on the computer, watch soap operas and eat bon bons - LOL Once I have to get a real job, I won't be on as much. I'm hoping that won't happen for another few years or so  Actually I love posting and reading the boards. I'm hoping there will be more Styx / Dennis / Glen news to talk about soon. I'm waiting for another letter from Tommy to post or another sold out Dennis show to post
:)

You win!! You get the prize :) Did you find the article too or did you know the answer???

In 1965, when another group called the Trade Winds had a hit with "New York's A Lonely Town," the Panozzo-DeYoung-Nardini Trade Winds changed their name to There Were Four ("TW4" for short). I'd bought that actual Goldmine Magazine back when it originally came out. Up till then I'd logically assumed TW stood for Trade Winds.
COOL! What's the prize?

Probably committing sacrilege here, but I think I would have liked TW4, which could eventually have become TW5, instead of the name Styx.

But that is just me. 8)
