A prediction

I wonder what Froy would think about Glen if he did a gig with Dennis? I predict Glen will work with Dennis before Tommy does...and eventually, Tommy will.

A bold prediction Adam..........are you playing a hunch,or do you have some inside info ????

And welcome back, Adam! Where ya been?

I'm playing a hunch and for some unknown reason, I've been having a hard time logging onto this board (which was possibly a GOOD thing).

What did I miss? Where's my arch nemesis, Froy?

As for my prediction, it just seems to make sense to me. It wouldn't be a bad move for DeYoung, Burtnik seems to have buried the hatchet (right?) and it'd get development arrested retards like us talking. Just my prediction.

Andrew was suppose to let him back on last night. He's reading the board and just drooling, especially the recent one from Adam - LOL

Since he's not on yet , I can talk about him (LOL) he promised that he'll behave and won't post any pictures, phone numbers or addresses!!

We haven't heard in a while that "it's over for Styx" LOL
:)

It just isn't Christmas without Froy!! :P

Merry STYXmass Froy and remember "These are the times" to be "One with everything" while "Waiting for our time" in the "Fields of the brave"

Genki Desu Ka!

Burtnik/DeYoung in concert, eh ?

Think we'd get a nice duet of "Killing the Thing You Love" ???? or perhaps "Kiss Your Ass Goodbye" ??? :P

Their isn't a lot of overlap for these 2....though I would truly enjoy hearing them do "All in a Day's Work", my personal Favorite on the Edge CD.

Welcome back, Adam! No...you haven't missed "much".

ChicagoStyx: LOL! Funny!! Definitely among Froy's favorite songs!

Classic: Yes, I am sure Dennis would love to duet with Burtnik on those classic DeYoung-is-the-devil-glad-he-is-gone songs. Maybe they could encore with "I Don't Need No Den...uh Doctor."

Adam...post when you can get on. I occasionally get that "Critical Error" message and just figure out other ways to get on.

I actually agree with you Adam. All you have to do is read Glen interviews and I think they speak volumes. He seemed to fall into that Styx Abyss for a while, blaming DDY for all things bad in the world, but post Carrot Styx, he seems to be singing a different tune. If truth be told, the "controlling" Dennis "allowed" much more Burtnik contributions including the title tract to Edge than the other Carrot Styx guys. Kind of the way Tommy was inducted into Styx on Crystal Ball.

I wouldn't mind seeing that happen...DDY and Glen in concert??? It would sound good to me... 8)

That would be GREAT!!

Now that's the most optimistic article I've read about Styxnation in a long time. Gonna be a great show. Hope the two share the stage for some songs.

Hatchet officially buried!!! :D

How great would it be to hear "All in a Day's Work"?????

Edit: Hadn't read the blurb on DDY's site yet. (Of course, Dennis' note is hilarious). This sounds effing-AWESOME! How can I get myself to Morristown and/or Atlantic City? OY!!!!

I'm sure there will be no public reaction, but I wonder what is being said about this privately in the Shaw/Young camp ? 8)

Well I don't know about a note....but when I first posted Rik Emmett wasn't mentioned. Geez this thing just keeps changing.

Read on:

Details:
Canadian singer, songwriter and guitarist, RIK EMMETT, will open the evening with a collection of hit songs spanning his 30 year gold and platinum selling career. Emmett may be best remembered as TRIUMPH's dynamic front man whose explosive guitar solos and stirring vocals left a trail of adoring fans around the world. Whether solo or as part of Triumph, Rik has an impressive 22 albums to his credit and is counted amongst the world's finest guitarists as well as the only guy in Rock and Roll that sang higher than Styx.

Following RIK, DENNIS DEYOUNG recreates his 30 years of musical history. Lost Treasures features all your favorite STYX classics including 8 top 10 hits such as LADY, BABE, COME SAIL AWAY, BEST OF TIMES, MR. ROBOTO, plus Rock Anthems SUITE MADAME BLUE, GRAND ILLUSION, LORELEI, ROCKIN' THE PARADISE, plus Lost Treasures such as PIECES OF EIGHT, QUEEN OF SPADES, BEST THING plus many more.

This 3 hour live concert showcases the talents of legendary singer/songwriter/record producer DENNIS DEYOUNG with his 5 piece rock band featuring the music DEYOUNG wrote and sang with Styx. His voice is one of the most recognizable in the music world today and continues to inspire new generations of fans.

Singer, songwriter, guitarist and New Jersey native GLEN BURTNIK will join Dennis on tour for the first time since 1991. Together they will perform songs they wrote from the EDGE OF THE CENTURY album including ALL IN A DAY'S WORK plus Lost Treasures from the never released 1992 Styx recordings and a few more surprises. BURTNIK is a respected solo artist with five albums to his credit plus an accomplished songwriter penning songs for other top artists including Patty Smyth and Don Henley who took SOMETIMES LOVE JUST AIN'T ENOUGH to #2 on the pop charts.

So , now it's a "tour" eh ? interesting indeed.....you know, DDY's idea of a tour is right up GB's alley, cus he can still spend plenty of time with his family between shows.

So, do you suppose these 2 guys are actually talking, or did their respective management convince them it is good for business for both of them :?:

And, while I am asking questions........( understand this one is 100 percent hypothetical ) WHAT IF CP started showing up sporadically at these shows instead of Styx shows.......which camp would have more right to the Name Styx at that point ?

No Zan, this isn't a joke!!

I can't wait to hear "All in A Days Work", no way, I just can't believe it!!

And guess what???? Glen will be playing guitar on a few more songs so we'll get to hear both guitars. "Queen of Spades" will fricken rock!!

I can't wait to hear the 3 or 4 songs from 1992 that weren't released by Dennis and Glen!!!

And then they're adding a few more "treasures" I guess, maybe.

And to top this off RIK EMMETT!!! I can't believe it, I love that guy and his music

So far it's just going to be these 2 dates, nothing else in stone yet!!!

Started about 6 months ago now they have to work together on these "new" songs!!!! And I'm sure Glen will be working on a few other songs and there may be an added surprise.

Here's Dennis' letter Eric:

Hey Everybody,

I am pleased to announce that Glen Burtnik will be joining me and my band in April for two shows in the great state of New Jersey. This reuniting will be as historically significant as say one by Lennon and McCartney. (That would be Irving Lennon and Wilhemina McCartney)
The "old southpaw" as I have always called Glen, will be helping us delve further into the "Lost Treasures Show" by performing tunes from "Edge of the Century," as well as music from the truly lost album of 1992. This music from "92" has never ever been heard by anyone, anywhere including us. We recorded the entire album with bananas wedged in our ears.
Come one come all to see Denny and Glenny rock the "Garden State."

It’s funny how so many people accused Glen of taking jabs at Dennis with Kiss Your Ass Goodbye and Killing The Thing That You Love. I guess Dennis never took it that way. Don’t be surprised to see Dennis playing along on those songs. Froy won’t know if he should boo or cheer! He may just end up curled up in the corner mumbling incoherently. Who knows, maybe this is a step toward Dennis having some involvement with the band again. Maybe not.

I wrote to Glen about that, it was on his "Dear Glen's". I'll have to look back and see if I made a big deal abou that on this board or not. I don't think Dennis took it that way or if he did, he forgave and forgot, which some people should do.

LOL, no I think Froy will be right in the front row jamming - LOL I don't think Dennis will be involved with the band. Just my opinion. I do think when Styx calls it quits, as Froy was saying, that Tommy and Dennis will get together for a few shows. Just a hunch. August 2006? Who knows :)

In the words of the immortal David Lee Roth:

"I think that probably the two biggest words up there on Howdy Doody Mountain now are, 'Uh-oh!'"
